Alright, well, bit of a rookie here, let's see how this goes.

Well, after I've gotten a little sick of keeping my head low in 5ft RCP's, I ended up scouring city records for stuff on tunnels. Ended up finding the "Shooks Run Drainage Basin" data and map, even (WOO, now I actually know where I am underground!)

Well, a nice 14ft wide by 8ft tall arched tunnel... Well, completely new to me, as I've only been in those crawlers and whatnot.

From the little ways I got in, it seemed like the entire place was the same metal arch and concrete floor. There are some street-side inlets every few hundred feet, really nothing too exciting. The map I have doesn't show any other features, against my desperate wishes. I am quite jealous of the explorers in larger towns, as Colorado is known for having a lack of underground to explore.

Only really got in about half a mile, and didn't get many photos. A slight bit of rain began to fall, and knowing the size of the area the tunnel drains, my better judgement told me to get on out soon.

On the way back out, I did snap a few photos.

Note: I still need practice in the taking photos in the darkness of a drain.

In either event, I plan on going back in soon. Maybe take a friend, and maybe bring a bike.

I'd also throw up the map of the system I managed to find browsing the city website a bit, though not sure if that's against rule of thumb considering I never see any maps around here.

Any comments appreciated. First time really posting a location, any critique? Thanks.

Colorado should probably posted in the "Four Corners" section. Maybe shrink the pics a bit.

Aside from that, I lived in Colorado Springs for 6 years. The first few years, I explored on foot. That was right at the beginning of the 80's tech-crash and lots of stuff went vacant really quick.

The Penrose Library (downtown Cascade and Kiowa) had an awesome local history collection and you can find REALLY good stuff in there. Even stuff that the city fathers would like you not to see.

T-Gap and Chapel Hills area has some big drains too.

Lots to do and see there. Especially when it comes to drains.

Back in the 80's, there was a tons of newly built and almost immediately abandoned stuff out on the Southeastern edge of town. My last time through there, it was all gone. Look up the "Banning-Lewis Ranch" some time.

Not to be a douche...

but your pictures are so big they don't even fit in my screen. And after the first line having to scroll all the way across to read it, then back for the next line, I got tired and gave up.

You should post your pictures smaller.

Something about drains, so +1 for that, and -99 for shitty post formatting.

Alright, thank you. For next time, I will re size photos. I did realize it would be pretty crappy with the images once I posted. Sorry about that.

Why don't you have a mod delete those photos out of that thread, and repost your photos in this thread, a second time around, and do them smaller?
