so the Cyclone and everything is gone now?

No, im talking about all the other rides they had before they were auctioned off. For a couple years, it was a complete amusement park including a rare and famous german made funhouse, haunted house ride, go karts, bumper cars, a steel coaster with a loop, lazer tag, mini golf, the works...

Thats awesome! I used to love going there when i was young. Once i got older, i pretty much stopped going except for the car show they had at the park. I always made it a point to go through the fun house, dark ride, and the roller coaster every time i went. It's sad that it closed down, but at least the speedway didn't!

starting the year after it closed, my friends and i went to the park to hang out and party while learning how to do night shots at least a couple times a month for a few years. First thing we did was set up a hangout/sleepover spot in one of the abandoned houses. We collected furniture from the old houses and set up ourselves a pretty awesome hang out spot. We even brought in those plastic bed covers and blankets for our beds, and a new carpet large enough for the whole room. With a 100' extension cord, we even had power! a few lights, a portable dvd player, ps2, boom box, and even heat/ac and fans! It was awesome! every few months (year round) we would have a small meet up and sleepover there. Sooooo many good times...

back when the rides were all still there, it was a much different place from what most everyone on uer knows now. it's a shame such few people took me up on my offer to take people there (and the crawford power plant) before the auction/demo. it seemed like the day after it was all gone, everybody and their mother hit me up to go! now all that's left is the coaster and a shell of what was the dark ride. try to imagine it packed full of rides, vendors, games, go karts, bumper cars, the amazing antique hand carved carousel, the miniature train, water slides, a mid sized steel roller coaster, mini golf (that was playable with all equiptment needed), and even lazer tag(also playable but kinda glitchy and no sound)!

it was so much fun having free roam of such a cool amusement park. I even knew the then caretaker, so he didnt mind if we were there at all. he even told us to kick people out if we saw anybody haha. I doubt he knew we were sleeping in an abandoned house and partying there as much as we did, but he was a cool ass dude! Something tells me that he knew what was going on, but we never littered or caused any damage of any kind, and were very respectful when we did see him (rare). We even kicked out and got a couple groups of kids arrested for vandalism and theft, so we pretty much had free run of the place. It was so awesome and i miss the pre auction days so much, it's kind of underwhelming for me when i go there now. but i definitely still love the place! I just miss the good old days....
