Huge industrial site buried in water.

At least once every year for the last five years I've headed south to hook up with Grt1 for a dynamite industrial UE. Almost missed this year but got it done last week. Many of you know this site, but no names please.

OMG, where do I start? The concrete structures are still in good shape but the turn-of-the-century buildings are really hazardous.

Forewarned, I kept my eyes open.

Some dangers were easier to spot than others.

No, that is not a reflection.

Hitting the old structures first, we headed for the roof, or what was left of it.

Didn't hang around up there for long.

Whole sections of the roof were fitted with see-thru violet tinted glass shingles, allowing daylight to filter into the work areas.

This place drew a lot of power.

But not anymore.

I enjoy imagining what this place must have been like at full swing.

Some kind of steam powered wire winder.

Now for the safer warehouse areas.

And the far less hazardous rooftop experience.

Love these big sites.

The neighbors were pretty quiet.

Now there's a skyline feature for you.

Thanks for looking you guys. And thank you Grt1.

Killer set, Kurtz. Victory is yours!

I love your threads - besides the great photos and history, it's a game and a challenge to find all your watermarks

These seem like they are probably really nice photos, but the jagged diagonal lines totally ruin them. Whatever you are using for resizing photos, I would strongly urge you to change.

I never would've noticed if it wasn't for you pointing that out.

Cool set, cool watermarks.

Essex, Really, time passes awfully quick when you're having UE fun.

Ed, High praise indeed!, thanks man.

NotLost, yea, sometimes I get so tricky I can't find it and end up doing another, and get called on it!

Kenny, I always disliked obtrusive WMs, but I may have gone to far in the other direction.

arntxville, Thanks for the tip. Work with me man, right now I'm just uploading the whole pic, abt 5-6mp, and letting the website downsize it. On my own I have the option w/Picassa, to downsize to 320p - 1600p...which do you suggest? Pick the shot that exemplifies the problem and I try it. And thanks again.

It's too bad about that first shot, when that section of roof was still up, you could look up and see wooden ladders and catwalks from back in the day when everything was run by steam pipes and overhead belt driven shafts. It's all on the floor now.

Great time there with you Kurtz, maybe next time we can hit up the factory across the street from it. Not much there, but there are multiple buildings on the same site.

I'll get my photos up as soon as I can, I took over 300 so there is a lot to process, ugh...

Sweet set of great photos! That would be a fun place explore. I'm with you thinking about what it was like in full production. Must have been amazing.

Thanks guys, I sure appreciate your comments.

Adv, yea man, it was 4 years ago!

That Cathedral really dominates the landscape there. If anybody is curious its even more magnificent inside. Took this a few years ago while waiting to meet up with you guys.

Here's what I was talking about. These are the catwalks and things that were in the ceiling segment that collapsed. This shot is several years old.

Oh man, that is some sketchy structure. I might take a picture of YOU climbing around up there (that fearless thing you enjoy doing) but I'd pass...it's an age thing Grt1. Now where's the rest of the 300 pics you've been editing.

I've whittled it down to about 117 now, plus panos. Now I gotta pick the shots for the set and do my right up.
