| | | Flew into PA earlier this month. The day before the shoot CatandTie turned me onto an old local detention center for some "warmup exploration" 1. Getting inside served as a good reminder that I need to go on a diet. I'll admit the sounds of the active detention center next door and beating of pigeons in closed quarters were a little unnerving.
2. And your token hallway shot.
Okay, so...to the main event. Before I get started, full disclosure as this was my second visit. The first time around (see pics here) I welcomed myself onto this site earlier this summer with no issue. However, I was very sick that day and didn't trust myself navigating these buildings - which as many of you know - can be tricky particularly getting up to the upper floors. Seriously entire sets of stairs missing WTF. Second time around, I had permission to go in and out as I pleased. If somehow that ruins it for you guys, I honestly don't give two
3. When I arrived that morning, I took this cellphone pano. Knew it was going to be a good day.
4. Like many other who have visited this and St. Nick, I came to the conclusion there was more to play with the exterior of these buildings and peeking through windows. The interiors were lacking in comparison to the coal breaker down the road.

26. All in all, took a little over two hours to go through 3 1/4 buildings. Couldn't get high up the building with "Blue Coal" on it, definitely too old and fat to get past the second level. 27. I returned at sunset to take a couple of pictures then hightailed it to Bethlehem to meet CatandTie and his friend (don't know his nic here) who as many of you know, are really cool guys.

| | | Have to agree with sleeperspirit, 12 and 13 are great. I always think black and white can really upgrade some industrial photos.
