| | | | I was actually just about to post a topic about this to warn people as the UE Database recommends stopping by to check it out. It is indeed alarmed, although the amount of effort and as to if there are cameras is questionable. We did a night explore / scopeout. Upon our first walkaround the exterior towards the backend where the powerplant is we heard the infamous "beep, beep, beep, beepbeepbeep, beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep". We continued to do our walk around, somewhat assuming we probably would be discovered we just continued to walk around the exterior. Sure enough about 20 minutes later (slow response time). A cruiser pulls in and I walk up to them and greet them. It's not our first rodeo and there was really no where to run as this was after a fresh snowfall and they'd see your prints. They kindly informed us we were trespassing and asked what we were doing. We explained it, they gave us a verbal warning after seeing we had no priors and offered us a ride back to the car. We parked on a side road on the back end of the property and entered through the woods. So the drive took a bit to get us back, but on our ride they told us stories about the property and what they've heard the owners are planning to do with it. Told us to have a good night and dropped us off.
What I can confirm is the property is actively secured and monitored, any ground level entry point to the main building has been secured. The property is actively plowed and cleared to maintain access. If you do get into the building via a method other than the back door, be prepared to be greeted by police. They have easy access to the building via the only non-boarded up, non welded shut door. On the back right where the power plant is, is an accessible door they have shoveled up to so they can gain access to the building. This door has a motion detector on the exterior which is where I assume we tripped it upon our first circle of the exterior. The building its self doesn't have power persay, but there is power on site for the security. You can actually see the cell link on the back of the building by the door with the motion detector.
So between it actively being plowed / maintained on the exterior for easy access by police and the company that owns it, the alarm system and the fact that it's been pretty well secured. I'd say at this point to avoid it.

Was inside a factory, real estate agent showed up and heard voices inside. Called the cops and reported a break and enter (not true, but he was an asshole anyways).
Cops show up with the K9 Unit, search me and take all my stuff (I only had my camera, an extra battery, my cell and a tube of chapstick on me - but it all was taken).
Real Estate agent claims I broke in (I'm a 5ft tall 90 pound chick and all the doors were open, impossible.) Police do a search and get my story. They find out not ONE, but FIVE doors are WIDE open. Real Estate agent continues to claim I broke and entered the location, then opened the doors.
Get brought into the police station, get questioned for 5 hours. After the 5 hours is up they release me and give me back all my shit and say "We can't prove you did it, so we're just gonna release you. No charges."
That guy was an asshole.

It was more than just that too, it was the whole "You know what you did was illegal right?" "Why would you do that?" "Was it worth it?" Bullshit over and over again.
Everything would've been fine and I would've just gotten a ticket if the real estate agent just admitted the building wasn't secured. But he refused. He had nothing better to do with his time than terrorize a teenage girl who was innocently taking photos.
They didn't delete them - I had only taken 5 of them anyways. Guy got there fast. Location wasn't worth the trouble either. Pitch black and nothing exciting inside.

Lol, I didn't. The place was literally wide open. The front door was open, the side doors were open, even the roof hatch was open.

For future reference don't let it go for 5 hours - you can, and should, invoke your right to remain silent until you speak to legal counsel. Also, if you just turned legal age and assuming this is an old story, would mean they questioned you when you were not yet an adult - in which case you should have been given the opportunity to contact your parents.

Good idea. I was honestly just terrified and wanting to get out of the situation asap. It was a weekend so I didnt know how long itd take to get a lawyer there nor can I afford one so I just stuck it out. Thanks though.
