I've been a member here for a little while but this is my first post so if I broke any rules, my apologies. It was unintentional, I assure you.

If you're out in the area where Pennhurst is located, you have other options. I can think of at least 3 other hospitals/asylums within a two hour drive. As others have said, Pennhurst is pretty much a no go at this point. Kings Park is a great location though I haven't been there in about seven years. Because the campus is a state park, you won't look out of the ordinary being on the grounds. When I was there, there were officers driving around but they didn't bother us. Again, I can't really speak for how it is now.

If you're willing to stay south of Long Island, Jersey has four large asylums/hospitals still standing though one of them is still in use. We got into the kirk of the aforementioned but were only able to access the areas that weren't being used (pic below). Quite hairy!

Linfield, from what I heard, has been demolished. Can anyone confirm this?

Good luck.

Far from it. They took down some of the small building & houses, but none of the main buildings. If im not mistake, they have plans on restoring it and cleaning it up, and using it for some type of "trash-to-ethanol plant and an electricity turbine fired by natural gas"

KPPC is a pretty cool place, although, after visiting yesterday I can say that one of the main attractions is inaccessible. The building which houses the Morgue is locked up pretty tight. Managed to finally find an opening that we kinda had to parkour into, but even after we got in we found that the morgue itself had been welded shut. I dunno if there was another way in from the other side or not, but I dropped my flashlight outside while doing the aforementioned ninja moves to get in and my cohort and I were losing daylight too fast to go wandering around in the dark with no flashlights and dead phones.

Also, they ripped down quite a few buildings at the beginning of last year, although there are still quite a few buildings spread out throughout the entire campus to check out. Though, the Rec Building with the swimming pool and bowling alley was one of those buildings demolished.

Also worth noting that within the past few weeks Building 93 was resealed. I didn't notice another way in, but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. It was a little sketchy walking around that building in the open, and we were pressed for time so we moved on to other buildings.

No real sign of police presence, but KPPC sits in the midst of an active park system, and park maintenance drive around in their green pickups looking for people in places they don't belong, and from what I understand they will call the cops if they see you going in or out of the buildings. (Some will give you a hard time for just being around some of the buildings due to some of them being in fenced in areas.)

I would say KPPC is a much better explore than Pennhurst, because once a place gets fixed up (as said before, Pennhurst operates as a cheesy halloween attraction now) it kinda loses it's magic

They did recently block the delivery door to the morgue with a big ass block of concrete. And they really did weld the inside door? Thats crazy, I will have to check this week. 93 was re-sealed a few months ago, and I must say this time they really closed it well, lol. I live 30 mins from the place and i go every 1-2 weeks so I know alot about whats going on

Hi everyone,

Can anybody give me some tips on a visit to the Philly area? I wanted to get to Pennhurst and Linfield Industrial Park. I plan on getting a hotel room as we're from CT over 4 hours away. Can anybody tell me if it's definitely worth the time, trouble, and cost? I've heard Pennhurst isn't that good anymore, but haven't heard much of anything about Linfield. Is it worth a hotel room if we visit both? I'm looking to get some good indoor pictures with lots of "layers," but enough light as well. We've already been to ESP, so that's not an interest for us.

Come down on a weekend I would be willing to show you KP...

We were there some time in november & the 1 p.o.e for 93 that I knew of was still wide open. It looked a little treacherous because it was lower than the kitchen & filled with debris but if wasnt that bad. Speaking of the kitchen, it looks like hell, most of the ceiling from what I could see had collapsed. Same time of ceiling collapsed behind 21/22 in the courtyard. They seem to have cut a few corners when doing some of the construction here

KPPC is still very open, and IMO has gotten easier then it was a few years ago. Its 's all dependent on when you go and what you want to see. Different buildings "open up" periodically and you just have to be conscious of what is going on around you. Any time i've encountered park maintenance, I've always just waved or said "hey whats going on." The maintenance is mostly young underpaid guys. If you act like you are supposed to be there and ignore them until they are right on you they don't seem to bother you. After all your tax dollars pay their salaries. Go alone it is always easier moving by yourself. Any noises are not you but others. They are 99 percent of the time other explorers like you, but you have the advantage.

You are supposed to be there. It's a public park.
