| | | That's a pretty hardcore ladder. I've been up that kind of water tower, but they always had a ladder cage (doesn't make you much safer, just beats the crap out of you on the way down).

| | | Excellent thread. I've been wondering about a water tower where I am, and whether it was safe to UE. Kids find ways through the fencing around it, and somehow avoid the watchful eyes of the people in the houses on all sides. I wish the area was in a more secluded spot so I could check out the two tiny pump buildings around its base. As it is now, when I get brave enough, I'll slip through a vulnerable part in the fence and climb up that sucker. The great thing is that at the top, it's fenced, so one can walk around all they like.

| | | I found a good watertower right next to a tire and motor plant, both appear long abandoned but I haven't gotten in close yet. The only two things that bother me is that there is a lot of open space around it and the water tower looks like it's been abandoned for 40+ years. I don't know how stable the ladder is. If I can get up there is should have a good view though. I'll post pictures when I can.

| | | Most water towers I have seen, been on, are very old. They were, generally made to last and may still be operational.
