DocHolliday - I saw that pick you posted of your gun in the "Other" forum. Doesn't that thing hurt when you fire it? The gun's so tiny, and .44 magnum is a little excessive, especially for self-defense. In many states, anything bigger than a .45 for self-defense is gonna be questioned.

As for myself, I have a Swiss Army knife. I don't expect to be cutting anything other than hard to open film packages. If I ever explore an iffy site, I may invest in something less lethal, like a collapsable baton or mag lite. Whether it's legal for you to carry a deadly weapon or not, cops get iffy if you're trespassing AND armed.

hows that for a slice of fried gold...yeeeaaa boyeeee

Sorry to dredge up an older thread, but I was quite amused by some of the staunch pro-gun statements. Let's look at the facts:

If you are UE'ing you are most likely trespassing.
You are carrying a deadly weapon while trespassing.
Anyone who catches you will not be aware of your intentions, other then the two above facts.
A landowner will be well within his rights to shoot you dead given the above circumstances. Let's not forget the last part of this, even if the landowner wasn't within his rights to shoot you, you're still dead.

I an fully understand and appreciate the desire to protest yourself. I myself own a pistol and am very much a pro-gun advocate. However, I learned how and when to shoot from a federal agent. Its very simple, once a gun is involved, you need to shoot until the other person is dead. You will act differently when you have the "ultimate" protection. However, you are in the wrong by being somewhere you shouldn't be. Carrying a gun does nothing but needlessly elevate the situation.

Scotland/UK too, taking a gun or not is never an issue. i dont want to stir up anything here too much but i feel sorry for you all who do, and i hope we never get to the level of gun tolerance that there is in the states.

Wow, that's one crazy story. I'd phone the police, you never know what's going on in there especially with the fact that its right next to a prison.

What the hell? Chicago has a new Clockwork? Well I'm the original deal. I may not live in Chicago anymore, but still...
