Acsys in Oshawa

Greetings from another n00b. I just returned from Oshawa and saw the Acsys facility (formerly part of GM), in the midst of being Greenspoon'd. <Insert customary apologies if this is old news/wrong forum/etc). Nice old shops, some with equipment still inside, are visible through torn down walls. There is the remains of a huge covered bridge that goes across the road (Near Ritson rd. Division St?), which apparently used to be part of the assembly line that cars rolled down. The equipment being used in the demo is spectacular, as is the scale of this place. I can't really believe that no one's been in there yet, but I didn't see any posts about it either.

A few people have been through there a couple of times. They have their photos posted in the UE DB, you just don't have access to it yet, that's all.

I was by there on Monday....it was an amazing site to see....the old part was clearly visible as the big white walls of the newer buildings were all down. Yes you could see inside the shops and rooms.

I used to work there and you wouldn't believe the sights in that place. Most of the goodies are in the middle of the facility. The whole place is made of of many smaller buildings. Some more then 100 years old. Lot's of basements and utility tunnels. Been all through that building and have some pics I could post if anyone is interested.

I'd love to see those pics.

What is the site looking like now? Mostly gone?

I'm sure some of you aren't going to like what I'm about to say....I'd like a brick from one of the old buildings as a momento. I've driven by several times recently and it's very much flattened. I've never stoped though and it doesn't look like it would be that difficult to walk in to grab a brick and walk out.

Yes, the place is pretty much demolished. Here's the uedb entry, it's been publicly viewable since Jan 7th. http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=22565 I set it as such because it's gone.
