| | | Its a neat place and all...but who would want to go a resort in Fort Erie? "Come to the Fort Erie...where you can save money taking a vacation than in Buffalo and still get 12 feet of snow!"

| | | It was also an amusement park and during the prohibition a lot of Americans visited. As well as some famous people and supposedly gangsters including Al Capone. It was also where a battle took place during the war of 1812.

| | | Seems like a pretty interesting place....especially if you can say that you have stood in the same place as someone like Al Capone.

| | | They were both amusement parks actually, erie beach had bought some rides from crystal beach at one point. Crystal beach bought it after it flopped to make sure no one else took the land, but yes erie beach was in fact a park at one point also.

| | | I went about a month ago. I took a lot of the same pics, so I will just put on some that are different from yours. Also, there is a book out there about this place.

| | | Very interesting. I stumbled onto these ruins on the shore Lake Erie when I was biking/camping along the Niagara River (about 4 years ago). I had no idea what these ruins were until I read this thread! Here's a few 1920 aerial pics I flushed out of the Library and Archives Canada web site:
The archives captions say these pics are of Crystal Beach, but I'm not so sure now. IanK's Crystal Beach DB entry shows one big coaster right on the water, whereas these pics show two coasters, both inland a bit. Confusing. Cool place to check out, either way!
It's great to be alive! |

Not a Beetle, they never had coil springs (except for the super beetle, made from '71 to '79) but it's definitely not a super beetle front end. Looks like something terribly domestic. [last edit 11/24/2005 2:46 AM by bandi - edited 1 times]
