| | | I showed the pictures to a friend of mine who is a HAM (licensed amateur radio operator) and also in the business. "Georgian Bay Radio & Communications Inc." doesn't ring a bell. He asked if there are pictures that show the actual antennas. You cropped the existing ones. If there are, he could determine the radio bands that the person operated in. He also commented that the towers did not look substantive enough to carry any monster Log Periodic Array, Yagi Array (long range, directional) types, requiring rotors and such. In other words the towers indicated less than semi-pro setup. We conjectured that the person who lived at this residence might have had a stake in the Georgian Bay business, but the sign and assorted nicknacks are from his workplace and not necessarily indicating he operated a full FM transmitting station from that locale. He may have been a regular HAM but may have also housed/managed the mailing address for the bigger company. Or he was a one-man band (home business) but a head of a larger radio enthusiast community. From the sign (pic IM000901) phone number shows 416-766-37?? From the bus (pic IM000916) phone number shows 766-?729 (assuming bus shows same company's number) Composite you get 766-3729 But chances are that number has been reassigned so reverse lookup is useless. But if that number is still good it resolves to: Sneddon, James Gregor 208 High Park Ave Toronto, ON M6P 2S6 (416) 766-3729

| | | CowboyPenner: Yeah, its likely that the address has a new street name, or has been replaced with a highway... something like that. I tried to google some stuff from info I found on the sign and bus, but nothing. I also think the van is sweet, I'd love to have my own rockin shaggin wagon. lol. Crossfire: No way! No one knows where it is! lol. I guess it's what you call a "hamlet", it's not really much of a town. We do have a really nice cemetery, but that is the extent of it. East of Stayner on 26 eh? I must have driven past it a million times. But I guess I wouldn't really notice if it's just a pile of dirt now, though interesting to know about. Air 33: Thanks, the TV is a personal favourite, I just love how vintage is looks. The motorcycle too. oldtimer: Hmmm well my curiosity is bound to get the better of me if I don't solve this mystery, so I am likely going to make a trip to the station tomorrow. My faded, albeit accurate memory has images of a few things that could be clues to what this place was, so I will make sure I get some pictures and take some notes. The name James Gregor rings a bell though... I think I might have seen it on a nametag on a vest hanging in one of the rooms. I will definitely go back and check. (and be sure to get some good shots of the antennas)

| | | Well the James Gregor was just a guess. Could be way off. But if you find any evidence of that name then you've got the right one. At that point should someone call him in Toronto to enquire about the status of the house? Are you still sure this house is abandoned? Is James deceased? By-the-way the vinyl record (pic IM000905) is 1971 vintage. Salem-Select label (like K-tel). | | | I'm wondering about the brown glass bottle on the shelf...it looked like it might have been a prescription which means there would be a name on it? Just an idea.
