Whitby escapee facing criminal charges in York

DURHAM -- An escapee who's been on the lam from the Whitby Mental Health Centre since mid-October is facing several criminal charges in York Region.
The man, who went missing Oct. 18, was arrested after police investigating a stolen vehicle report scoured a Markham neighbourhood with a helicopter and canine teams early Monday morning.
During the investigation, on Bluebell Drive in Markham, police also discovered a garage that had been broken into. A man taken into custody was found to have keys to the stolen Honda in his possession, police said.
James Robert Kellman, 27, is charged with theft-related crimes, as well as two counts of breach of probation. He was being held to face the charges in Newmarket.
Mr. Kellman, who was committed to the Whitby Mental Health Centre after being found not criminally responsible of a criminal offence by the courts, has a history of violence, police said. He has been at large since failing to return to the Whitby hospital while on a pass.

I don't blame you. The news gets too depressing at times. I've got a couple of tapes with tunes put together so I don't have to turn on the radio.

In the morning on the way to work I'll listen to the radio 'cause I like this one particular radio show....other than that I'm listening to my CD's. If I want a traffic report I'll get on my CB radio and ask the truckers instead of having to wait for it.
