If you're leaving town heading west on Hwy 17, it's right across from site of the new hospital. It's fairly close walking distance from the university/college campus. It was closed for years, re-opened briefly, and I am pretty sure it's closed again now. I checked it out about 10-12 years ago, before it briefly reopened. I have some photos somewhere, might post them if I can find them. There used to be a large area of old pulp/paper equipment stored outside behind the plant, but last time I checked this area out (last year) most of it had been removed. I'm not sure about any security on the site, but I never saw anyone there while I was exploring.
