| | Seeking Ontario ghost town photographers < on 10/26/2005 3:20 AM >
| | | Hi there. I run a website called Ontario Ghost Towns and Abandoned Places. It receives approximately 100-200 hits per day. As I am located in Sudbury I am somewhat restricted as far as travelling to the South of Ontario. The website is mainly focused on old heritage towns and structures as compared to abandoned factories, etc. but it serves as a catch-all for any urban/rural exploration people do. I'm looking for anybody who would like to donate pictures (eg. CFB Borden, Cheltenham Brick Works, etc.). I have unlimited disk space for photos and of course credit (or email, weblink) would be provided. You are free to write up your own text for the town in question. I notice there are photos posted on UER. I'm not looking to replace this website but to concentrate on places with Ontario history behind them. If you'd like to contribute please email [email protected] Thank you www.ontarioghosttowns.com [last edit 10/26/2005 3:23 AM by Intrinsic - edited 1 times]

| | | Don't know if you want a reply but I may have some around the Flesherton/Eugenia area you may be interested in at some point.I am around that area quite a lot. I also work for a propane company and have "some" access to some pretty detailed maps.

Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.

| | | What ghost towns around Flesherton/Eugenia are you talking about? I'm not aware of any, and I lived in the area for 20 years. There's the ruins at Hogg's Falls on the lower valley road, I suppose. C.

| | | I know there is one at Eugenia Falls, though I've never been there. I'm open to anything be it a town, factory, mine, mill, etc. as I cover not only ghost towns but individual factories and other urban areas. It's an all encompassing site, fully searchable by how far you want to travel from your home town and also includes Geocaches. Basically I'm at the point I can no longer continue to keep updating the page due to the extensive travel from up north to lower Ontario.

| | | Look for any books by Ron Brown, ghost towns of ontario 1 and 2 come to mind, I have both, it makes for a fun day of wandering. Strangely enough I was planning on doing some on saturday perhaps. I will be in touch if I get off my lazy behind.

| | | Ron sent me copies of his books and I've used them religiously. He also sent some pictures of Berens River which is probably the remotest and untouched town. It has a bowling alley and one room jail cell. It's very hard to get to. Thank you to those who've written so far. I truly appreciate any offers of pictures from those South of Sudbury. The cost of gas and the lack of overnight lodging keeps me from visiting many of the places you've been to. I've added CFB Picton and Cheltenham Brickworks but hope for more. Call me greedy, but there are literally hundreds of people who are just like you (and me) looking for directions and pics to these places.

You probably use Magma for an ISP. Magma has been blocked for certain reasons. If you want access, I can arrange it.
