Has anyone heard of any plans for the "proposed" Bay/Adelaide centre? Right now I remember that it was supposed to be another one of those office-plaza places connected through the PATH system, but the last I remember of it in 1993/94 was that they stopped mid-stream leaving a fully-serviced parking garage and a chunk of unfinished building about 10 stories high.

Thoughts?

Where did you find that picture? Do you know how recent it is?

It doesn't really matter how "recent" that picture is, absoluetely nothing has changed on that site since the mid-90's. What you see in the picture is what is there.

That said, There was an article in the Star last week i think about how Brookfield has bought out the other shareholders, and as a 100% owner is now looking to re-start the project, and will be out looking for tenants for the office tower.

I'd guess it was taken from the roof of the Bay building or so?

The new proposal is for three towers (62 storey office/residential, 53 storey office/residential and 49 storey hotel/residential). Zoning is up to the city now, but is expected to pass unhindered:

I was just curious about when it was taken as if you where to walk by it right now it has been painted and loos very different externally. Plus id love to know where that picture was taken and if it was a publicly accessable area.

Am I seeing that photo correctly?
Is that a big empty shell of a building all the way down to ground level or is that on top of another building?

EDIT: the link to a second forum answered my question. I would think based on construction principles there is floors in there! Can't build up to that height without internal lateral bracing....in the name of floors

I am sorry to say that I cannot take credit for the photograph, it was taken by a professional.

Infact if you look closely at the image you would notice that it would have been quite impossible to take this photograph, as there is a building in the frame that does not exist yet.

Any guesses? Well I have outlined it in red for those not familiar with the area.

The image is infact a crop from one of the renderings for the proposed Trump Toronto, right on the corner of Bay & Adelaide. I happened to notice the building is question when I was reviewing the proposal for an urban planning class.

For anyone interested the full high-resolution renderings can be obtained from the Trump Toronto website here TrumpToronto.ca/.../Building.zip

There are floors, but there doesnt appear to be any internal way of accessing them, such as stairs. Theres nothing inside the place anyway.

The picture posted is looking at the North Side, of the tower, which looks pretty much excactly like what you see.

The south side along Adelaide has some Fidelity investments advertisement painted onto it.

As for the picture, thats funny, i never even noticed the out of place Trump Tower until it was pointed out.
