|  | | | Hey I'm new here and must say...This site is AMAZING! I have been doing this since I was a kid, and had no idea that sites like this existed. I am going to check out a few places here in London. Not having a car kinda hurts, but I get by. Just wondering if anyone has any spots in London for a newbe to check out. I'm going to check out an old mansion in a week or so, I'll take pics!

Would this old mansion be on Westmount, or Talbot, by any chance? Do NOT go to the one on Westmount - just take my word for it. Don't go alone to Talbot, but it's do-able.

I'm not too happy with recent thefts that have been occurring at some of our favoured sites. Saying you went into an abandoned mansion that is already half-burnt with only a lighter, while drunk... doesn't really help with that credibility. The mantra here is (generally) to take only photos and leave only footprints. I know I sound like a cranky old git and it's nothing personal to you, but I think it's important to continue this trend here in London.
the one on Westmount (that I'm referring to) is alarmed, furnished, and for sale. That's why you probably shouldn't touch it. If you get in non-destructively to the Talbot mansion (there is one way), share some photos and build that trust level  it takes time, but is worth it.

Sorry to hear that things are being taken, thats not cool at all. I am aware and agree with the mantra! Do you know anywhere I can get info on the Talbot place? I've been looking but see to come up empty handed. I will have some pics soon though!

Again, don't go alone or at least without a cell-phone. It is in rough shape and I don't trust it very much. General info about the history of the place, there are a few news stories about it if you do enough google-digging.
