Another fine database entry by Iank and Fedge

well tonight we went out around 5pm looking, searching, scouting, and exploring when we came to this place. Trudging threw snow and wet feet, we found a way in. here is the URL for our find:

http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=23839

After we finished here we found 4 abandoned houses that where so tightly shut there was no way in unless we did a B&E which we dont ever do nor will we ever. So after 6 hours of nothing we decided to call it a night. I know Fedge has some pics to offer, and I think Lopex will have something to say too

well enjoy and have a great night.

IanK

Yep, because it was winter, -6ºC and dark, we decided to only go out for 6 hours instead of our usual ten. Here are a few other places we visited that won't be getting a database entry but had some amusing bits to report on...

A dog in the next yard was barking so loud and never stopped so we didn't stick around this Brougham home too long. Despite a wide-open screen door, the main door was nailed and padlocked shut. IanK1968 reports, disappointedly, that this house is a no-go...

The house was boring but this was cute enough to warrant a photo. The door to the basement of this Green River house could be fully closed but the cat still has access to its litter box via this nifty cat door...

In the same Green River house, an old wood burning furnace in the basement, rusting away right before our eyes...

In Locust Hill, we found a very interesting building worthy of a database entry but it was stealthed a bit too well and too many curious neighbors nearby. This is the rear of the building...

At the same Locust Hill building, note the collector's item Coke bottles. Can you imagine buying a Coke for only 25¢ or 35¢? Back then 50 Cent wasn't even born!

This house, at the corner of McCowan Rd and Old McCowan Rd in Markham, was boarded up super-tight except for a rear basement window. We were about to climb into the window when we shined our lights in and discovered this. Needless to say, we did not climb inside...

That factory looks pretty enticing, especially because by the sounds of things it is new enough (Aug 2005?) that vandals haven't had a chance to destroy it yet.

Nice find

Next time you guys head out, lemme know, eh?

It's been too long since I went on an exploration and definitely been too long since I hung out with Ian. I'd like to get back into explorin' again but I hate doing it alone, for personal (not to mention slightly paranoid) reasons.

Oh well, at least we got to see Whitby Psych before it went completely to hell. :3

It looks like an interesting little place. The hallway with the peeling paint would probably make a nice black and white with the right lighting I think.

Just curious why you rated accessibility as Moderate, when it looks like the window in the pic with the chairs is an easy entry (and from the way the blinds are bent, used entry) ? Are there other factors ?

It requires wisdom to understand wisdom: the music is nothing if the audience is deaf.

Dude, when I was a kid (which wasn't *that* long ago), we used to be able to buy 35 cent bottles of pop at the corner store.

Okay, it was 20 years ago...

where the window is, is right beside a highway, plus the window is small and the bush getting to the window was wicked.

Makes sense.

I'd be curious to see what the easterners think of BC's natural razor wire. Kowalski and Redux know the stuff I'm talking about... I'll see if I have any good pics at home after work...

Yeah, I kept on thinking the cars on the highway would for sure see our flashlights. But I guess it's true - general passers-by just don't give a crap, unless your exploring their own property. Anyone else's, go for it, it seems. As Ian put it, even police would be hard pressed to leave their cruisers and donuts to go investigate potential gun-totting thugs in a dangerous and dark abandoned building...

Man Ian and Fedge, you guys are doing great things for the DB in the area, I just realised all the locations near were submitted by you guys. We should get a group thing going sometime.

Thanks for the kind words! Sounds like a great idea, Ryden...
