New to this whole experiance and living by a great place to go?

I'm 17 and living in Montville Connecticut, right next to Norwich and the famous (at least, around here) Norwich State Hospital. There doesn't seem to be a day that some kids aren't talking about sneaking in (although, they usually decide to go get stoned instead of actually explore inside) and I was wondering, is it really that hard to get inside? I wouldn't want to miss out on something so close just because I didn't know anything about it, or how to get to the building and inside of it. I appreciate any help!

If you're new to this whole experience and all, you might not want to start with Norwich. There is asbestos there, and until you learn about proper precautions it should be avoided. Full-time guards with the power to detain you are also located on the grounds. I highly recommend looking for some easier locations, until you have some experience. And for goodness sake, don't be wandering around a place like Norwich high. It's like asking for a fall through a bad floor or some other mishap, and is just plain idiotic.

Ok i love norwich, it's my favorite place to go. unfortunately it's a little far away from me. Plus last time i went was the last time i had my old point and shoot, and forgot my tripod. In all honesty it was probably for the best since we got chased out of there with the quickness. Honestly it's way to secure for someone who is completely new to this. I would recommend starting out with a nice drive to western mass to check out somewhere like belchertown, just to get the practice. I mean if you want to have the whole baptism by fire routine, then sure go for norwich. just consider that you will probably get caught and arrested, and remember that conn. actually convicts people with felony trespassing. Where as mass. does not.

got my camera and my wheels, lets go
