| | | Posted by GrayFox how can a hacksaw cause "Tons of damage" if its just used on a chain?
|
Breaking a chain is as bad as breaking a window. The thing is, you have to put 2 locks on the chain in the end to keep it together, which then looks a little sketchy in the long run. The best option is really to learn to use lockpicks or a bump key and attempt it. Otherwise, go back to school and learn to climb a rope. Really it isn't that hard, just try harder..

| | | We recently did a large mill in London UK only access was 15ft (ish) from ground so we took a fold up ladder only £40 over here so i guess they would be very cheap over the pond!

Picking the lock is less likely to get you caught than cutting the chain...

i will give you that however its alot easier to explain a hacksaw than a lockpick set (oddly enough)

so carry a set of bumpkeys.. I would doubt that if a cop searched you he would even realize what they are.. How would a hacksaw be any easier to explain then picks? Maybe in a random car search, but not in a building that you broke into by cutting the chain.. But then again Picks are legal to own (in most places I think) so in a random search picks wouldn't be an issue anyways..

Well the breaking of chains had all the locks changed on a site before, so it kinda sucks.

| | | If your caught with a hacksaw or bolt cutters or a crowbar or lockpicking tools while breaking into a building you will likely face the same charges. I beleive in general it's illegal to be carrying B&E tools. Your pretty much screwed if they caught you prowling around some building with such things at night.

There were ethics expressed?
Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod earth’s fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread. |

That's a statement that I fully agree with, when it has the tagline of "as long as it doesn't affect others". Hacksawing a lock at a place can increase security for the people that go there after you, and ensure that anyone else caught there (regardless of how they got in) will be much more likely to be treated worse than they would have otherwise... So, if you do something that can impact others, then no, it isn't to each their own any longer, it's "I'm gonna fuck shit up for everyone".

| | | It also is diffrent on a case by case basis. The place I am talking about is not well secured nor does the city overly care. Also it's not as if I am doing this as a first option. I have done it once, and only as a last resort being as how I am not the most athletic or strongest person out there. Do I feel I have done anything wrong, no. Do you feel I have? For the most part of this thread and UER as a whole would think I have. To be completely honest you can keep saying how I go about it is wrong and I really don't care what you think along these lines. This is what I do and how I do it and if you don't like it, then so be it. [last edit 1/18/2006 8:10 PM by GrayFox - edited 1 times]
