| | The castles of Hamilton... < on 1/13/2006 2:07 AM >
| | | Goodmorning ladies, gentlemen, and honoured guests... I'm new! I've been doing a lot of research, looking at pics, et al, and I've come across the mention of Amisfield Castle in Hamilton. It was built in 1957, takes up 10 acres, and is now blocked in by retail stores. However, I can;t find anymore information on it. Is the writer of the book I'm reading nuts, or does this place really exist? Thanks, Simmorill
It seemed like a good idea at the time. |

| | | I think I know where your talking about, however, it no longer takes up 10 acres of land. It only takes up about a city block as far as I know and its near the downtown core. I'll get a picture one of these days, it is boxed in by stores now your right about that. You can't see much of it but the top pretty much. I'll get back to you on this!

Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.

| | | Hey Simmorill, welcome to UER, and welcome to a fellow Kitchenerite. I've been exploring in this area for about 3 years now. I don't know much about this place in Hamilton, but if you're interested in some more local stuff, I can help you out. Our ever-expanding group of locals is going to be having a ue meet soon, so keep your eyes and ears open for a date and time. We'll get together for some social time and then maybe scoot out to explore something. C.

| | | That would be awsome. I lose my UE virginity on Saturday, we're driving to London and then to Hamilton, to see if we can find anything. If you have any suggestions for local stuff, that would be so cool. I would love to get together with those who know what they're doing.

| | | I don't know a whole lot about Amisfield Castle, however from what I understand, its the building by James and Duke. From the looks of it, the building got converted into apartments, and its still in use.
