Seen while commuting

I don't know who, if anyone else, commutes in southern Ontario, but have you ever passed a place so many times you forget it exists until one day you look at it for some reason and are totally floored to realize, this thing's probably been abandoned for years!

There's this restaurant just past Hew Hamburg on the 7/8 and as long as I can remember passing it (Daily for a year and a half now and at least 1 a year for 4 years before that) It's been empty and abandoned.

The sign outside it says 'outsiders'

Anyone know anything about this place?

It's a tragedy.

Yes actually now that you mention it I have seen it. I was in that part of Ontario in December visiting a friend in Stratford, I stopped by the Fryfogel Inn.

Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.

I know the place - have seen it every time I've driven out towards Stratford on 7. Unfortunately it was never the right time to check it out.

I know the feeling, though. For the longest time I would pass by a big house between Guelph and Kitchener, and it wasn't until several months later that I even noticed it was abandoned. Most of the time I see these things quite easily - that one avoided me for a while.

yes, yes, I've done the same thing. The houses at the corner of dixie and derry road, the Medland House on 6th line in Oakville, and the three locations on fourth line in Omagh, I've only been to one at the moment. And of course, who can forget the Consumer Glass place in Milton. Now, gainfully added to the UEDB.

I nearly went in to look this morning... when I realized it was abandoned... problem being I was still 25 minutes away from work, all dressed up, had no camera and 15 minutes away from already being late...

It's bugging me now though.

yeah, the class place definitely comes to mind. I'm sure there are many other locations i have passed that are also ue worthy, it just takes actually noticing them versus just seeing them

Funny you say that....there's a house only a few minutes away from you at the U of Gu that I noticed for the first time earlier this week.
