| | Halloween UE < on 10/28/2003 10:49 PM >
| | | Just wondering if anyone has any big UE missions planned for Halloween this year, seeing as how it is on a Friday and all. I was thinking of what missions I could possibly go on that would become lower risk thanks to Halloween. I figure since this is basically the only day a year I could walk around wearing full camo, face paint, etc. without standing out to much if seen, I should plan atleast a basic mission. Besides, if someone sees you snooping arounnd where you don't belong on Halloween they are much more likely to see you as a punk looking for a pumpkin to smash rather then someone trying to steal something.

| | | On the other hand there's a greater police presence on the street than most days of the year, and private security employees are also likely to be more alert than usual. That said, it's the one night you can dress up to UE and not get pilloried here for being a Jinx- (or Wraiths-?) wannabe.

| | | Its always been my experience that its allot more risky to do anything on halloween. Seein that its the night that everyone goes out to party and cause trouble, esp. in old abonded buildings. The cops are always on high alert and allot more suspicous of anyone. I always hear of a ton of busts at my usual exploring sites on halloween. The only way Id go is if I found a place totally in the middle of nowhere, where it would be very unlikley for anyone to bother taking the trip out.

| | | I wanted to set up a haloween party out on the nearest dredge, I'd set it up as we had it while filming my horror movie, and have some games and creepy movies (laptop and projector on a small generator or inverter and car batteries). Unfortunately it's not going to happen for a couple reasons, I'm too damn busy, I don't know how we'd get everyone out there now that the road is closed off in the winter, and someone would probably get drunk enough to get hurt, alcohol and big rusty machinery don't mix. I might go tunneling haloween night, maybe get a few friends and have a "blind" expo, only bring one tiny light or better yet a few glowsticks. There's always the prank aspect of haloween too... | | | Two years ago I hit a abandoned prison facility on Halloween. Lots of fun wasnt spooky. Then I repeled off the top for shits and giggles. You can get away with somethings its just about being alert and confident. Beginers should not go out. Ohh and your more inclined into getting in trouble on thanksgiving (lost a K9 unit that night hehehe). Hence we dont go out on holdays out of general respect for overworked cops, and are safety.

| | | Well, now that halloween is over, and everyone has had a chance to recover. Anyone have any halloween UE stories? My halloween UE story is: I had two places that I was going to hit on my way to my final destination for halloween night (nothing exciting, just a party). I arrived at the places and they had both been torn down already. Oh well, some you miss.. Zern Edit: didn't make sense the first time and I had forgot to preview.. | | | No UE for me. Instead I went to see A Perfect Circle for the first official show of their new tour. It was fun, Maynard dressed up as “Shakes the Clown” with a orange afro with a polka-dotted clown suit and floppy clown shoes, Jeordie White (previously from Marilyn Manson) dressed up as Twiggy Ramirez – his old identity while in Marilyn Manson, Billy Howerdel dressed as a gay sailor. I’ve seen APC 4 times now and this was my favorite show. There was lots of Maynard’s humor and they also played a song called "fred's got slacks" that doesn’t exist on any CD that I know of. It was funny, I think they were just free-jaming and having just as much fun as the audience. When it was “over” and they turned the lights on people had started to leave Part of the band wouldn’t get off the stage and they continued to jam. The roadies had already started to take things apart but they wanted to play another song. They couldn’t find the bass so they got the crowd chanting “Bass, bass, bass!”. They got the bass plugged back in and turned out the lights and played Metallica’s Master of Puppets. Friggin Awesome.

| | | That's sounds like a lot of fun. Speaking of Twiggy, do you know why he left Marilyn Manson? I bought MM's new album used but I haven’t given it much listening to. I guess it doesn’t have the same magic as the older stuff. Maybe it’ll grow on me. I have a feeling that Jeordie left the band because Mr. Manson is a little too full of himself. As for Halloween UE, I didn't partake. I just hung out with friends and went to a Halloween party. I dressed up as a Canadian.

| | | The day after Halloween during a halloween party I visited a local elementary school with some friends. I had a sword as part of my costume, so I decided not to run around on the roof. I would gladly have gone in, but it was close to halloween and hard to explain a "concealed" sword. I graduated already, but on reflection the school district had some ridiculously strict weapons policies(if it looks like it looks like a weapon you can be expelled.)

I think it was the traditional "differences in artistic expression" or something.

| | | Besides scaling a two story building to flush out the punks that threw eggs at my friends car I never got to explore anything on Halloween. The night after halloween I went to a huge university engineering halloween party held at a local market where I explorered the attic as well as the section of the building that was closed off. In the small towns around my city several abandoned buildings were set ablaze however, so UEing on Halloween is not a smart idea in New Brunswick, simply because you could be easily suspected of arson. The fire departments said Halloween was the busiest night they have ever seen in four years. [last edit 11/4/2003 1:18 PM by matr0x - edited 2 times]
