In a totally unrelated UE incident a friend and I were being tracked by about 20 cops and a K9 unit (long story some lady freaked out during the holidays because a window broke out of her SUV and gun shots were reported in our community. They thought there was a sniper shooting at people and a friend and myself were screwing around in the woods near the main road. This was after a sniper shot people on a highway in our state.) My friend was in BDU's and I was in a pair of jeans and a black shirt with big reflective letters that said STAFF on the back and a logo on the front. My friend got busted 30 feet infront of me under a bush while I was squating in a slight depresion line of sight to the cops. I aggree that reflective stuff is BAD NEWS. However I got away from all the cops and a K9 unit with ease.

Hence my tip for all the people who have to run. For the untrained person and the beginner DISTANCE/TIME = Safety the farther you are away from your theat in the least amount of time will keep your but from trouble.

Mark: Your story sounds incredible (as in not credible). Sorry, I just don't buy the fact that you evaded state-trained dogs while they were within pissing distance. Oh, and distance/time = velocity.

Just being a jerk to the noobs.

Hmm, I wouldn't think it would be very easy to evade all those cops and a K9 unit, but perhaps once they caught one person the search for the other (if they even knew there was a second) was small and so it was easy to get away?

Oh, and distance/time = speed, displacement/time = velocity

Sorry...couldn't help it...been doing too much physics lately

I've evaded K-9 units before, but with wholly different circumstances. Indoors where they had to follow my scent along my path, and I was lucky enough to have heard them as they were brought into the building. To do it outside is quite unlikely, unless there was only one officer and one dog, so when they caught the first guy, they didn't continue the search. Otherwise, I'd say you'd have been a chew toy...

As for the credibilty I dont much care what you think. The guys wouldnt come searching in the woods. Im not sure why. Not untill they had a ton of cops there. My friend got nailed and they all pulled out. Then they brought the dog. Some cop was yelling he was gonna "IM GONNA SICK THE DOG ON YOU" I started moving about the time the dog got there. So I had some head way for him to pick up my sent. Also I went deep into the swamp with gators so I dont think they wanted to go in there. Also we had zig zagged through the woods for hours so he probably had to follow that. Its not hard to get away from a dog. Two things you gotta do. Confuse the handler or go where a dog can't easily. That will slow them down. IF you go around in circles or follow a dear trail with dear crap the handler sometimes thinks the dog has gone off on a hunt. Well some of you will get my point. If jester can get away in a confined area then outside should give you better advantages especially at night in an area you know better then any cop would.

If you started moving once you knew a dog was there, you started too late, I don't believe it.

It is harder for you outside, because you cannot put barriers in the way of the dogs, and there are less things the keep it from picking up your scent. Why does it matter if you know the area better then the cop? The dog can still track you like that, and any police dog can go faster and through more stuff then you, I guarantee it...

So did they actually release the dog ? Or did they just threaten with releasing it ? How do you know ? If they didn't release the dog, then you got away from a guy yelling... not quite the same now is it ? Talk to anyone with any knowledge of trained police dogs and they'll tell you what you've said here is wrong...

Sorry but in my opinion, your story seems more likely to be found here...

Obviously you werent there. Obviously I cant prove it to you with out going to the cops and pulling the report. If your so inclined to come down and meet me I'll introduce you to my friend who got caught and you can go ask the cops. Jester how did you get away from a dog in a building? They dont bring dogs out with a bunch of cops. Mainly becuase the dog is so exspesnive to own. Also if you dont believe me get your snoz out of your fair tail book and look in this one.

Go and take a look I want to say around 100-150 is the K9 evasion part. Which states that and also adds using hills which I didnt have. No the dog was never released from the leash. My friend saw it he was sitting in the police car. I started moving when the cop car pulled up with the dog. The cops did call off the search when they found my friend but my friend said I was out there or may be at home we got seperated.... which was technically true. They took a chemical (parafin something) and tested for powder residue on his hand. We had shot pellet guns duing the day and the cop told him that it would pick up the chemicals from the air rifles oil. It was BS but he was trying to scare my friend into a confession. They also called the search off 30 minutes after the dog was out because of a domestic assult with a hammer which was my other saving grace. Maybe you wont believe and honestly I dont care I think the in the house thing is a little ummm odd but I have seen close calls like that before. So go get your professional dog trackers go ask them questions and prove me wrong because they will tell you sometimes the dog doesnt seem to track right. He/she has bad days. Im sorry I ever brought this up I just was relaying a event that happened to me. Not trying to boast. Unlike some people who stick up there adventures on the net. Ohh yeah this happened thanksgiving night I want to say 1998 1999.

Compare the date that you said it happened in your last post w/ your first post's account of things..."They thought there was a sniper shooting at people and a friend and myself were screwing around in the woods near the main road. This was after a sniper shot people on a highway in our state."

And as for the "boasting" on the net thing, I'm not sure who you are referring to, but the sites I visit are not boastful at all. Those of us that have sites up have them to share what we find with others, not to brag or boast.

I’m sorry I brought it up I forget the year it was on thanksgiving that’s why they freaked. Yeah most UE sites aren’t boasting. However I don’t like Jester, due to the fact he is has been a very arrogant on here for almost a year of me lurking. Especially to the new guys who come in just wanting help (I wasn’t talking about the sniper shootings that happened recently this was a while back). Yes know I just realized I don’t care. This was about tips. I probably posted in the wrong spot. I think you guys are to quick to judge because you have more posts then someone else. Maybe someone got lurker then you once or did something you haven’t done yet. That’s no excuse to be a jerk about it. I kind of respect the other guy he said he didn’t believe me in a less respectful way. I can’t believe the arrogance on here. By no means am I saying I skilled my way out but that’s what happened. Part of the reason the cops came was due to the fact we stayed in country for a long time messing around with flashlights. Obviously that was a stupid move that I should have never done and never would have been in that situation. Maybe you should take my experience as reference of what not to do and a little of what to do. Like keep moving. I rest my case there no need for this on here and I will not reply to any more comments on this.

spelling

Ohh yes and No I dont think Jester is a bad guy he just grinds me the wrong way being that people are trying to get in and he likes being smart with them. I respect what he has done and I think he is skilled but it grinds on my nerves because I have seen many people that are new on here get upset because of him. It just doesnt help the UE cause of getting people interested when your a jerk to people and that happens by quite a few people on here. However Jester does help people to. Its a toss up sorry Jester I dont mean to demean you but I just dont aggree with everthing you do.

I still find it hard to believe that you were a mere 30 feet away from your friend when he got caught, but they didn't spot you ? And responding to a Sniper call they only send one cop ?

Here's something that happened here; before 9/11 and before the big Sniper incident in the states, Merlin and Scarab were driving in Vancouver. Merlin had a horrible horrible sunburn on his face and it was very sunny so the sun hurt. He wrapped a t shirt around his head to cover up from the sun. He and Scarab were changing CD's in a discman in the car as they drove when somebody saw them and called the police saying they saw a guy in a mask with a gun driving around.

So they got where they were going and went to some game store or somethin, and walkin back to the car, as they go get back in, they are swarmed by cops. A big Suburban type suv filled with officers. The cops came out, guns drawn yelling "Get down, Get the FUCK DOWN !". They were both cuffed. Scarab got his glasses broken when one of the officers were cuffing him. They questioned them and searched the car before realizing there was no weapon or anything... All that from a call of a possible weapon.

You had police respond to a Sniper and only send one cop ?

Here's an earlier discussion about guard dogs...
