| | | What that man said is true. It some of the more wild areas, there's poison ivy that will knock you flat. I went searching for an entrance into the remnants of the old Nike Missile Site, and no kidding, came eye to eye with the largest effin poison ivy plant I've seen in my life. It was like my height. I almost walked through it. It's growing all up trees, over bushes, its everywhere. They don't need to guard half the places in that prison, people get punished enough just walking into them.

| | | In my opinion any publicity, whether good or bad, is negative for UE. Some people just don't understand the reason why we explore, and label us as vandals and delinquents. It is impossible to change the views of some, and in their eyes the cons outweigh the pros. Yes, there are dangers associated with UE. Yes, in some cases minor laws have been broken. However, most who partake in true Urban Exploring do so in a safe and responsible manner. I would never do anything to vandalize or destroy the locations which I explore, nor would any of my fellow explorers. As Blackhawk has already stated, the problem is that the media in the article did nothing to help UE, it attracted unwanted attention from those who don't understand or appreciate the activity. Any article, regardless of how harmless it makes UE sound, will attract unwanted attention. In an activity like UE, attention from outsiders only causes problems and hassles for us as explorers.

| | | Media attention is inevitable. I understand your points, and am not attempting to refute or am I disagreeing with them; however, it is impossible to avoid media attention. Urban Exploration is growing, and will continue to grow unless we become some super-secret organization. As we grow, the media, always looking for a story, will investigate. Personally, if they were to do a story about Urban Explorers, I'd rather them get their information from us instead of vandals or taggers, or angry cops for that matter.
