Missisauga a wasteland...

...well,not really or us uer's would be walking around with permanent woodies...
actually there seems to be a major lack of abandonments in these neck of the woods. I've biked all over mississauga(a feat in itself), and have really struck out on any promising buildings. Mind you heading into next door T.O. is a whole different world.
The only real good thing going for Miss. is there are quite a few nice tall buildings under construction(condos) and office buildings to infiltrate.
Any Miss. uer's feel the same?

Mississauga has both one of the best sites in southern Ontario, and a near total lack of anything else of interest.

I'm not from Miss, but Lakeview is fresh enough to make up for suburban hell.

Too bad for Mississausaga when Lakeview gets torn down then. Isn't it supposed to be a pile of rubble by 2007? Then it's back to houses, construction sites and drains.......

Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.

Is there any good drains in Mississauga? I mean ones that are not back breakers.
I prefer to stay out of Peel Region now.

word of advice stay away from the International Centre

I find that you can always find an abandoned house here and there. I was bitching about that too a while ago, how mississauga was a wasteland. But i opened my eyes to find at least 5 locations withing a 10 minute walk from me. Sometimes it just takes a different way of looking at things.

But as far as excitement. Mississauga is the most unexciting area ive been to. its a huge area of...houses.

I can just see a subdivision being put in it's place called "The Lakeview Manors". Complete with concrete sound barrier (now with windows).

Has anyone else seen these...there putting little plexi-glass windows into them so they don't seem to prison like.

So quaint. Well sort of....in a twisted way....

There are usually things to be found in Mississauga's industrial parks, too. It's never anything too exciting, but yeah.. they're out there.

yeah I though I think it's gonna be exempt from the condo sprawl that seems to be plaguing PC as of late.

It's just barely on the east side of the 427, so it's technically in Etobicoke. Though it's probably a bad idea at last check anyway... there's plenty of active security inside the building.

I thought its Etobicoke, but not sure. That is a very cool location. The former Boeing building / plant was also nice --before they tore it down on Miss road I believe.

FYI, the Sog has a fair number of mildly interesting, non-back-breaker drains. Mostly near the 401, but there's many others as well. Check Kowalski's site if you don't believe me.

And although Lakeview's on its way out, for those into construction sites, there's new industrial going to be built in its place, plus that big, fancy condo building near Square One (the finalists in the design contest were in the Star a couple months ago). It'll at least be somewhat more interesting than the glut of soulless condos going up in T.O. right now.

There's also a set of silos on the GO line somewhere between Kipling and Milton stations (at least they were there a year ago) that had climbing gear on the outside, so I doubt the insides are used for much. I'm sure some of the other buildings I've seen along the various train lines are also potentially available. It all depends what floats yer boat, I guess.

If you're more into live infiltrations/rooftops/etc., there's Square One, and Miss. City Hall, along with some other relatively interesting looking buildings in the same area.

So, yeah, Mississauga may be a cultural and spiritual wasteland, but not necessarily a wasteland in a bad way for the open-minded explorer type.

yep.

Good points Mortimer. Although getting to the roof (IMO) of Sq 1 is really tough, plenty of active cameras, lots of office buildings around it to be seen from, and some way over zealous security guards
Miss city hall though, I never considered an infiltration on that one...hmmm.

Mississauga city hall, key point the clock tower. I was at the Living arts center for my grad ceremonies and saw the town hall across the road and had to hold myself back from not going over there to attempt to get up to the clock tower.
