Abandoned Yellow House, Peterborough

There's an abandoned yellow brick house on County Road 29 north of Peterborough. Signs have appeared recently suggesting that Trent U has purchased the house and its probably slated for demolition.
It appears to be in perfect condition. I've driven past it literally hundreds of times without noticing its even there. Its a little back from to road on a curve so I guess I tend to watch the road instead of the scenery there.
Anyways, pics are from a brief visit in late summer 2006. Don't know if its in the DB yet but I hope to add it if I can get full membership status ;)

I had a look at that place this summer and assumed it was owned by Trent because it was so close to the campus. I figured it would be used once school started up again.I noticed that there are a couple of lots around it that once had houses on them. Thanks for the pics. Nice to see someone exploring Peterborough

Here are a couple of exterior shots i took while scouting out Peterborough in the summer

Speaking of Trent property, there is also the Commoner that was sitting empty for years just across the river from this place. The university demolished it in november. Very sad, lots of history plowed over

Here is an article from the Trent newspaper "the Arthur" The Commoner news story

There's also three other houses on the east bank near Gzowski that have recently been acquired by Trent and have new danger signs out front. One is filled with old desks, chairs and school crap. The other two are also in pristine condition.
I haven't had time to check them out yet.

Checked this site out today, nice house/yard. Looks like someone's been trying to light a beam in the garage on fire without much success. (thankfully, obviously.) It was a nice site to explore being a noob, it's almost directly kitty-corner to the entrance for Trent off water/cnty rd 29 for those that are interested
