I own a higher end Lumix than that and I love it. That one doesn't have the Leica lens on it though and from what I hear the proprietary Panasonic lenses suck. If you don't have the $ though, that may be good. Check http://www.geeks.com, they always have great deals on digis.

what about the regular lens sucks so much. im not going for portraits here, but i do a lot of exploring at night, so i was going for the image control and the night picture function

Not sure, just heard. Mine has the Leica. If it has a similar system to my Lumix, which is the FZ20, then the night photography is great. The reviews I'm reading don't talk to highly about the camera as a scenery camera but rather as a portrait camera. Read the CNET review before buying this one... I think its the most honest review I've read: http://reviews.cne...01_7-31660593.html

"but don't count on it for decent photos when the lights are low."

I don't think this is the camera you're looking for, but for $100 I don't know if you're going to find one that gives good night photos because you'd need a great image sensor, and you're not getting one of those for $100.

Low MPs, but the Leica lens is wonderful. I think you'd be better off with that one for the price... check out the CNET review here and see if its more to your liking... I'd pick up a tripod if you're shooting low light and use the manual focus more than the auto as it doesn't seem like it'd work too great. Leica lens on a decent camera for $150, that sounds like a pretty good deal.
