| | | Dude. If I had the $300 I'd buy one in a second...many times have I wished I had one of those to look outside from under a manhole to see where I am, avoid popping a manhole in a road, etc.

| | | Yeah, but it says it "Provides a clear image from .75 inches to over one foot away." Somehow that makes me think it wont see across a room.

| | | Plumbers use similar things that are on a very length wire. They stick it in the drain and keep pushing it all the way along so they can find the cause of a blockage. Frozen- Would a mirror similar to what a dentist uses work for that? I have used them to peek underneath doors and they are fairly cheap if purchased at a flea market or similar vendor. It is basically just a dime sized mirror on a toothbrush (similar) frame, with a sligth tilt to it.

| | | Even better than dentist mirrors are those telescoping ones that mechanics use to look around engines and stuff. Asylunt

| | | Neat, but sounds like a waste of money to me. Nothing beats the good 'ol crowbar for seeing what's down in the dark! ( Well, I suppose there are some occasions that it could be useful. )

You sure? I've never seen a plumber stick anything into a pipe except for the purpose an unblocking it...
I wonder whats behind THAT door? |

| | | Posted by Caenos You sure? I've never seen a plumber stick anything into a pipe except for the purpose an unblocking it... | I would almost be positive that is where I have seen it done before. My friend's dad owns a plumbing company so I will confirm it through him. [edit] Here are similar items.. http://www.professionalequipment.com/xq/ASP/id.24/subID.149/qx/default.htm

| | | Good gadget for draining: Laser pointer. You can shoot it out in front of you, and see how far you have to go, or shine it down manholes, and see if there is something big under it.

| | | It's cool that this kind of technology is already available to consumers, it doesn't seem too long ago you'd only see this kind of thing in a movie or something, I need to get one of these... not really for exploring, but I'm sure it could come in handy then too
