| | cops really rain on the parade < on 4/4/2007 2:32 AM >
| | | I went UE'ing today at an abandoned Snuff Factory. found an open door and walked in, so dark because of the boarded up windows, so we decided to come back when we had more flashlights. we walk out and cops roll up. yada yada... middle school aged kids who were breaking shit on another area of the complex got caught and told them we were inside. we talked to them before hand because they were right there. we were just asking about the factory and we went our separate ways. so we got kicked off the premises and now we aren't going back because the owner said if we did we'd be arrested. now we're trying to get permission to access the building (its worth a try right). the building is a part of local history and its being torn down in the near future. It sucks that NJ is so populated. we get caught more often than not just for the simple fact that people are always around.

| | | This past Saturday while I was at Michigan Central, we were headed down from the roof and heard somebody talking into a radio right around the corner. We hid for about a half hour in a closet, and made our way back down. We chilled in the basement for awhile, then headed back up to the lobby to get some shots before the sun went down. When we entered the lobby, there were three teenagers - two girls wear and a guy. Once of the girls had sandals, dangly earrings, and looked like she was about to go behind the middle school and get knocked up. The guy was wearing all camo. They were running around and making noise like a bunch of idiots. We walked over to them to see what the hell they were doing. What came next was the most retarded conversation I have ever heard in my entire life (one of the girls mentioned myspace at least twenty times). To make this worse, they were being LOUD. They would not pipe down, even though the place was silent and we were only two feet away from them. Sound travels in that place, and anybody outside can hear whatever is going on inside. I finally grabbed my 5D-Cell Maglight and told the girl that either she shuts up and they move along, or I shut them up and we take them down to the basement and have our way with them. The guy, trying to be all calm and cool, has the nerve to ask me how to go upstairs. I directed them to the pitch-black rubble covered stairway (as opposed to the clean nicely lit one), knowing they did not have flashlights and the sun was quickly setting. We then thought it would be a good idea to get out of there, and went around to the lawn in front and watched through the open windows as they got busted by the cop that was up there looking for us. So yeah, basically, if somebody else is there who I don't know - I don't bother going in, or if I'm already in, I get the hell out of there. You can't trust others to be as smart as yourself.

Now see? That wouldn't have happened if you would have ordered one of the super amazingly bright UER lights!

i know i was kinda pissed, but i think the man upstairs was looking out... we left because of that and got caught by the cops outside. if we had been inside it may have been a different story.

Yea I learned that too. Managed to hear some kids from a few stories up in a building here, they were outside being loud..considering security lives on site they were stupid. At that point we decided to leave, I hate being places with others, now it is fun watching them get caught, but I'd rather not be part. Scared the crap out of them when we walked out, they were in a full run and just came to a dead stop. By the time we got to the 'walking path' security pulled up on the corner..who knows what happened later. Maybe this is why I won't go to risky places with people I've never been with. Not the first time I left before I was done. Heck I was just getting started and these idiots came up and were obnoxious. Drove an hour to check this place out, spent about 30mins there and left due to their stupidity. Kids with camo, shining flashlights around (with a neighborhood within sight) and being really loud isn't a good combination. Then when I went to ask him to turn the light off and chill (considering 2 of us were 4 years older and the other much older than that...I'd of listened) he became a complete jackass and got worse. Screw these idiots...haven't trusted people since.

| | | we're never trusting anyone again. we said- "don't tell anyone we are here" and thats exactly what they did. they were kids though and considering they were outside i guess they figured that if they told the cops we were inside they would leave them alone.

The living are always trouble. I stay quite, listen, and watch anyone that comes into a site I'm at. I'll avoid contact unless I desire to either meet them, or need to pass them (don't feel like waiting). Vandals really boil me over because I'm there too, but not to take their ride. That will usually cause me to end my passive watching of them. Fortunately most people have poor noise discipline and are easy to hear many times before they see you. This gives you the upper hand of how things will play out. Trust people to be themselves...
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

| | | There was this 6 story convent I used to go in fairly often. One time when I went in, I could hear a bunch of kids upstairs running around and laughing. There was only one staircase in the building; and a non working elevator. On the floor that they were on, there were big metal fire doors that blocked off the stairway (if they were closed). I was with 2 other people and we quietly walked to the floor they were on and slammed the fire doors shut. It was so damn loud! Next thing you know, they were ALL sobbing behind the door. After laughing our asses off for a good 10 minutes we opened the doors and let them out; reminding them that they were luckily it was us and not the cops who found them. This was also the place that when I was a kid and my mother couldn't find me, she would drive up to the convent, honk the horn, and yell "Debi, get the HELL out of that convent". That is true UE upbringing. Other kids were getting picked up at the playground; I was getting picked up at the convent.
