Ok I was looking in a brigade quartermaster and found a few neat things. Maybe a few of you can add this to your last minute list of things you want. Happy holidays.

For you winter guys in the snow and ice YAKTRAX WALKER There theres things that fit on your shoe/boot and act like chains for car tires. They streach out have metal grip and seem the perfect idea for those unheated icey buildings.
18.99

HOO-AHHS FIELD TOWELS these are tough clean off face paint well and are totally unscented unlike baby wipes. They come in Woodland Camo and Desert Camo packs for concealment. I suggest these because I know I have had to drop a load on many ops and having a dirty bum is no fun. 3.99

Pila flashlights (why you ask? they are water resistant up to 3 meters 15ftish) For all of you who want a surefire but hate that they arent water resistant and dont want to payy 300 bucks for a aluminum one. These lights have one end that is a Xenon lamp and the other is a 4led illuminator. 130lumens Xenon 50 minute continues run time. LED run time 60hours. A good two in one flashlight small compact 69.99 (little pricy for the average light but nice to have dual lights. Also the CR123A batteries they run on can be found cheaply at surfire (DONT BUY THESE AT WALMART)

This is something I didnt in my groups. EMERGENCY RESCUE BELT 7000lb (3174kg for the people who hate the english system) weight strength Essential if you fall and dont have a harness this will hoist you up. Which means you need some static rope and a few carribeaners. 29.99 (for the belt only)

HI-TAC ROPE GAURD If you guys dont know when ropes go over the edge of buildings tunnels etc it is extremly dangerous for the rope and the person hanging on it. This little gaurd(which can be made for cheaper this is just so you can see it) will save you from your rope being cut in two. Dont believe that will happen? A rope being cut like this happens all the time. Be knowledgeable about your ropes and there constraints. FOR GOD SAKES DONT USE PARA CORD! unless you have to. 19.99

For all of you that dont know if your being poisoned or not HAZ-MAT SMART STRIP ITs a cost efective detection bade. It detects chlorine, PH sulfides, Fluoride, Nerve agents, Oxidizer, arsenic, sulfide, cyanide. These little buggers run 19.99 each but I know a few of you tunnel rats can use them. they only last 12 hours and I suggest getting a carbon monoxide detector as well. But there about 3-5 bucks

Anyone have a E&E situation into woods and not know where the hell they were? SURVIVAL WRIST COMPAS AND SURVIVAL WRIST THERMOMTER. Not a necesity for all but if your going to a place that you havent been and may encounter cops thesse might be handy. Also I like to know if I am gonna freeze to death each one is 5.99

I love my BAJA WATERPROOF BAGS these save your equipment from getting soaked (drainers this might be your thing) They come in all sizes and colors please use google to find there site. they range from really small to duffle bag with straps (I own a good many). However I must add mine stays in another bag so I can drag the gear. 10-40

For those of you that just have to have a colapsable grappleing hook. GRABBER FOLDING GRAPPLING HOOK There are picks in the forum on this one. 1650lbs rated, 1.6lbs weight 8.5" tall and 4" wide.

For CHUD protection SPLATMATIC BLOWGUNS AND ACCESSORIES 36"blowgun 9.99 and 48" two piece blow gun 12.99 that breaks down for storage. I also suggest the Spike Darts for 13.99 they look very agressive 100 in a pack.

This all can be found at www.actiongear.com and many other sites as well. probably for cheaper.

Dude, CMH4, I freaking got a Garrity. No joke. It's so bright its not even funny.

Also the Princentec 40 from REI is extremely bright, extremely light, and waterproof for a long ways.

It's a halogen, batteries last 2-3 hours and the bulb lasts 30. Cheap to replace, well worth it.

Happy Holidays,

UEXplorer

P.S. Good list Mark.

Also try the rubber Tufflite series for your backup/secondary needs.

They float, are waterproof, and are shock resistant. Very bright too---provided you don't use Family Dollar batteries.

http://www.garritylites.com/site/retail_details.php?recid=62

They recently came out with LEDs; I own one. I'm waiting for the LED Tufflite. That would be the best all-around draining flashlight ever devised by man.

I act like one of those people companies plant on message boards to push their stuff. It's kind of sad when somebody gets so excited about discussing flashlights.

This is kinda offtopic but a way to partially waterproof your mag lite or other flashlights are to put a bead of caulking anywhere the is a space. I have an old mag lite that I put some clear bathub caulking on and around the cracks and it works fine despite being drop down hills numerous times and being thrown off a dock into 5 ft deep water in a heated arguement while still on. It won't work with the garrity disposables because there is a crack where the switch is and you'd never be able to turn it on/off after ya caulk it. To get it the caulking off if you need to change batteries/light-bulbs ect.. use a sharp knife (everyone here probably has a few) and gently scrape it away. The clear stuff works best.

I don't know about you.... but my un-caulked maglite seems to work fine despite dropping it in a lake/down stairs/etc....

I wonder whats behind THAT door?

Yep sometimes I trash my flashlights. I've went through about 5 maglites since I started UEing 2 years ago. I drop them and kick them, I accidentally left one on the train tracks, like balancing on the rails well I went to take a leak and a train came by before I could get it.It split it in half bit I tapeed it and added a few new wires and it worked fine. I had left it there becuase I had left my back-pack there, Only cause I thought it was an abandoned line. Now I know its not.

Don't forget a pair of hi-tec magnum in the 12 inch height. Side zip if you can find them. Then rock out in comfort.

I got your tour winner right here pussies, at least he'd crash out trying.

Maglites are sealed plenty well, and I don't see how a bead of caulk can really do any good if you have to twist the head to turn it on and off. Maglites in the aa and D cell sizes (I can't speak for the tiny aaa ones, but they are probably of similar construction) have O rings to seal all openings. Pop open the rear cap and you will see a rubber gasket. Unscrew the head and you'll find a rubber O ring. Take the clear cover off the front and you'll get another O ring or two. Good flashlights, and plenty watertight for being submerged in puddles and drains (and sewage). I don't know how much pressure a maglite's seals can take, so I don't think they would hold up to scuba diving or anything more than a few feet under. although it would be interesting to experiment with this...

These are great little lights made by Garrity.
http://www.garritylites.com/site/retail_details.php?recid=40

I know they are disposable, but they also seem plenty watertight for draining nad what not. Good as a backup.

Everready also makes one similar to this, it seems a bit brighter, but I haven't dropped it in water yet so I don't know how it compares to the Garrity, which floated down the drain away from me lighting the way.

These are so cheap that they are good grab and go lights, when those missions arise that you don't have your gear.

some cool gadgets that might be useful...scroll about halfway down the page and you'll see a "camera detector"!

Also has some neat electricity detectors and such.

As for MagLites, Get a six cell if you have the room. They seem brighter than the lesser cells and are quite formidable - Great for CHUD bashing!
One major downside though: Freaking expensive to replace the batteries!
