Adopting a hobby shouldn't mean adopting a life of crime.
Even if you do trespass, that's not a felony crime.
Carrying burglary tools is just asking to be arrested.

Your in control, but only if you keep yourself in check.
Expect to be "caught"; keep it survivable with no permanent damage!

Reading this thread, and realizing that you're still lecturing everyone on these boards without fail, has made me decide to stay away for another month. Congratulations.

"See you guys, you never listen to me. I said there was gonna be trouble but you didn't listen to me. You guys are crazy. You know, you guys are self destructive. There's a funny farm and it has your names written all over it. But I'm gettin' out of here. I'm... I smell ice cream!"

Its hard for me to have fun urban exploring unless I am doing something ILLEGAL.

The building just feels different, seems like it has less history, there is never anything cool inside unless.... I break a lock, disarm an alarm or just bust a window to get in.

(I'm totally being sarcastic up there...)

If anything, I LOVE getting permission. It means not only do I not have to jump at every sound and freak myself out over getting caught, but I can take my time, take pictures, walk around and actually appreciate the beauty of the place. Come on people, UE isn't about breaking and entering. We're trying to give UE a good name here, not make the general public hate the hobby more than they already do.

Just my opinion..

Its possible to enjoy both, but exploring and breaking and entering are two separate things.

Most people on UER look down on folks who vandalize, spray paint and trash abandonments. That includes breaking stuff to get in. (Like alarms)

Complete honesty- I'm not looking to break an alarm, just a way to tell if it's real, or any way to go around certain types.

Not that what I do is the perfect way, but honestly if a building still has electricity, I stay away. If the school is really neat and that cool and abandoned and not about to be used for anything else, it will eventually not have any electricity going to it. Maybe you should just wait and watch it for awhile and see what happens. Its better being safe than sorry.

The thing with this is, he doesn't even know if there are alarms in the buildings. The light in the front could be for something completely unrelated. We are suggesting that he goes in, and if there are alarms, get the hell out, but wait to see if cops come. What's so wrong with that?

Exactly. Your clearly B&E if the building is maintained.

Would you want someone to UE your house or tool shed?

Pretend you owned that property; how would you react to finding someone inside?

No need to be so stingy and negative about the whole thing, I'm politely asking to drop it.

There are many threads about alarms and such here; sometimes it's safer and better to just read those rather than start yet another alarming thread.

OK so I went tonight just for the outside. Check it out, and tell me what the HELL this alarm is anyway?

If it is one.
