| | | Posted by micro I'd just like to know who on this site has ever been charged and convicted of a a felony because of something related to urban exploration. You seem to bring it up an awful lot, so I'm assuming it happens quite frequently around here.
|
Who's that one mod that left because of a misdemeanor conviction? Even a misdemeanor conviction is not exceptable, and expensive, let alone a felony conviction. Micro, your rhetorical questions are wholly ineffective, in real time usage. I can and do chew up people who try this tactic on the phone or in person, but counter using different tactics, normally, when in those modalities. Occasionally you make the mistake of teaching me something that makes me more assertive/effective in arguments who's outcome does matter, unlike this gibberish. Thanks, but I was a bloody nightmare, already. The more you throw at me, the more I take from you.

| | | I don't know.. who was that mod that left because of a misdemeanor conviction? Some people do get scared off after getting caught or having to pay a fine for trespassing, while others tend to stick with it. So much of what you say is divorced from the reality of what urban explorers can typically expect to encounter. If we listened to your rhetoric that's based solely on the idea of not doing things simply because something bad might happen, then we'd probably just end up sitting at home playing pocket pool all day instead. The best advice you can give to anyone is on how to take calculated risks. I don't think that beating them over the head with blanket statements or striking fear into their hearts using fictional doomsday scenarios is really very constructive. As for the rest of your post, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

| | | lol. i'm so glad i've created such a controversy here. i guess i should have been more specific. i know all the risks involved here and don't need blackhawk intervening to save my future. i'm perfectly capable of screwing my own life up thanks. i was more just curious as to what risks other explorers would be willing to take in a similar situation. maybe blackhawk should stick to exploring abandoned playgrounds or something. anyways, thanks for all the input guys!
So please don't wake me, Till someone cares. Now no one cares. |

Your welcome. I find offices and residential structures are a bore., and avoid them. I wouldn't bother with an office or apartment building with the potential for felony charges when I can go to sites that are industrial, a whole lot cooler and not near as hot.

| | | I think we can sum this whole thread up with one simple statement: [Do whatever you want to do but be prepared to live with whatever consequences come from it.] UE is kind of like dating: Some people are always lucky, others not, some land in between. Sometimes the guy with no luck can get laid, other times the always lucky guy catches an STD that fucks him over for the rest of his life. Thats why you should always wear rubber: (meaning dont do anything retarded like entering a place with sirens, cameras and sensors because obviously someone isn't bullshitting about trying to keep you out.) If you are tying to get up enough bravery to go to this place by posting in a forum, remember: Somebody telling you it will be okay on a website will not keep the cops from coming. Personally- I try to stick to places that do not have NO TRESPASSING signs which there are a lot of where I am from. This simple measure can make or break your case in court.
