Abandoned Plane Wrecks of the North

I found an image of some plane wreckage in Ontario . The wreck is dated 1981 but i believe the pic is more up to date so perhaps the plane is still sitting in that lake

I looked for more info on the crash and found a website dedicated to abandoned aircraft in Canada and alaska

Here is a link to that site
Abandoned Plane Wrecks of the North
This seemed like one of those sites that should have been posted on UER before so if that is the case i apologize but i searched and couldnt find it. Enjoy

Here is a story about recovering planes and possible human remains from planes lost in training during world war two in Ontario

Thanks Otonabee that is really interesting.

I have been casually following the search for Steve Fossett and I read that they have been using Google earth but have to be careful not to confuse his plane with so many other old plane wrecks that are still out in the mountains. Makes you wonder if those bodies were ever recovered??

Rather morbid but fascinating at the same time....

Apparently in the search for Fossett they've discovered a dozen plane wrecks that were not previously found. Guess that's to be expected when they send in everyone they can for the Gazillionaire.... and not for the Average Joe.

I keep a millionaire tied up in my closet for just such an occasion ...

Anyways, the site was very interesting! I have a morbid fascination with crashes -- of any kind. I'd love to stumble upon an old plane wreck ...

That shit ia amazing!! I sat and read that stuff fir a half hour I guess I didn't think about the fact that they don't hav eot clean up the mess in the middle of nowhere. I see what they say about us city dwellers We sweep up the glass after an accident and hose the blood into the sewers.

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rain fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand
