| | | The one place that I've been to has supposed gang activity, I didn't run into anyone there, but I there was a lot of tagging in the pool, and just a bit on the walls. I want to go back with my friend but she doesn't like the idea of running into gang members. I wouldn't mind if I got beat up my only concern would be my camera I did carry a knife with me when I was there for just such an occassion but none arose I may be going back sometime soon once I get my new fisheye lens and hopefully a flash! If I run into anyone i'll let ya know ;)

| | | I'd leave and call the cops on them - pure and simple - I carry a knife and a very heavy tripod, but there is no use getting into it when you're out numbered - and "out gunned". Another point - if you come across any resistance like this from bums or asshole kids like that - its better to leave and explore another day and ALWAYS explore in a group. I >have< been places alone before - and no matter how safe or secure I felt - I would have been shit out of luck in some of the situations I've found myself in over the years. Travel with others - it may sound corney - but there is safety in numbers. [last edit 12/14/2007 1:59 AM by Mobian - edited 1 times]

I'm positive what I saw was gang graffiti, it used numerous signs belonging to folk nation, such as 6-pointed stars and pitchforks, along with a "RIP" tag for some guy named Chad.

yeah sounds like you know what your looking at, graffiti artists can give reference to friends who have passed away, but your right its more likely that it was a gang tag [last edit 12/15/2007 5:47 PM by UE TWF - edited 3 times]

| | | Posted by UEdude56 LOL I know another topic. Similar to the homeless topic. Has anyone came across gang? If so what did they do? I went inside this abandoned package store recently, and came across a group of boys. They had a couple females with them. who knows what they are up with. all they said ,and did. Was leave now, before We make you leave. So I didn't wanna do anything stupid. They had a knife, and a gun on them, so I chose to leave. Anyone had a similar experience?
|
In Missouri I ran into a couple of gangs, though I'll just explain the second gang run in.. as it's sort of funny. I and 3 other friends were going around exploring some places just outside of Kansas City (I think it was?).. at an abandoned small apartment connected to a small store of some sort we ran into a stupid little gang we were kinda familiar with. It was a group of mostly mexicans, few black guys and a white guy.. they all were standing in really retarded poses, acting all "tough shit", and only one had a gun but he'd hold it in the typical retarded position.. (I don't even know wtf he was up to, he wasnt even paying attention to us, he was probably high outta his mind, standing in a corner staring and "aiming" at a wall..) they were telling us to leave the area with their terrible ebonics (they were there getting high I assume by the smell). To shorten the story some ... we just started cracking up. I mean, it wasnt even really threatening feeling or anything, it was just too hilarius.. I tried to hold it in, incase they really would do something but with their stupid poses and ebonics.. I couldnt help it. And I guess they didn't like being laughed at very much cause they just ended up leaving. lol The gang is sort of a joke.. all they are known for is being annoying retards.. most bad they do is *TRY* to steal cars.. and typically fail pretty badly.

| | | There's some heavy MS-13 activity around where I live, so I'm always cautious when I'm approaching a site. Another good reason to always let someone else know where you're going - even if you're in a group - just in case you don't come home.

| | | OMG! It's the Men who are Lesbians Mafia! In my town guys like that would be run out of town by old timers. I wish we had a gang like that in town. It would stir things up. Instead we have these 'gangs' who's biggest threat is 'I'll get my dad to beat your dad up'. So childish.

haha, we have those in our town. They're typically middle school kids which makes it even better. There are some areas near me that are potentially dangerous though, so I tend to avoid them. I'd rather not run into cocky bastards with guns...
