I recently dicovered this after reading a thread by spRocket. This site gives good quality government aerial B&W photographs of anywhere in the US, you can also get topographical maps and other good stuff, and I think its free (I got the info I needed for free)

this link is the microsoft hosted site, Its kinda like mapquest was to globexplorer, they let you get better pictures for free
http://terraserver.microsoft.com

This site is terraservers home page, If you have a subscription you can see USGS and globexplorer photos fully zoomed without logos in the way, if you don't they only let you zoom in so far
http://terraserver.com

There's also a site called globexplorer.com that has color aerial shots of more than just the US, but the pictures are lower qulity and unless you pay, have logo's all over them
