| | | | New to UER forums, not so new to exploring. < on 8/25/2008 3:01 PM >
| | | Hello All! I'm a transplant Rochesterian (WNYer, Rottenchesterian, Rahhhchestern, etc) originally from the Capital District of NY. I love exploring pretty much everything, from state parks to abandoned places to active sites (with proper clearances and permissions on the active places, of course). I've recently taken to trying out UrbEx/exploring a little more professionally(?), bringing along a friend and my camera, as well as a small list of supplies. I've been lurking the UER Northeast and rookie boards for a while, and felt that I should finally speak up and post something valuable. I'm a little disappointed to see how few cemetery pictures there are in the forums I've lurked, so I decided to show off some pictures of the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester, NY. Cemeteries can be amazing places to explore, and they're open to all (Mt. Hope has a 24 hour gate now, as many Rochesterians know). It's a great place to get your feet wet, especially in a new area. http://picasaweb.g...rew/MtHopeCemetery I keep my pictures either on Picasa or Facebook because of the ridiculous amount of storage space they offer. I also have pictures of the Rochester Subway that I'll upload soon. Enjoy!
Me goin' legit would be like JarJar on speech therapy. I'm on Flickr now! My Flickr Stream | I'm about as thick as a Bryk. |

| | | Welcome to the site. I agree with you on cemeteries, I love old ones myself! I live in Texas and the best one I've found was about 3 miles down a dirt road in the country, in the middle of a cotton field. No roads to get through it, you had to drive straight through the field on a tractor path.

http://cat.org.au/~predator/approach.txt There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop... |

| | | Cheers, velcrozeppelin. I've been lurking anonymously for a while as well, and finally decided to join. I've been getting more and more 'professional' as well, bringing one or two experienced friends, tripods, multiple lights, and more adaptable gear. I'm looking forward to sharing photos, etc... of sites I've visited, just as soon as I get some time to do so.
