Inn on the park is an active construction site as a car dealership tore down the front section and built an addition. Also the Dominion Wheel and Foundries Company was demo'd almost 3 years ago and that tavern was leveled a few months ago...it isn't too accurate. Interesting someone went to the trouble of adding google maps tho.

| | | It doesn't look like much in the abandoned category has changed since I last visited it about three years ago. Still a good resource for buildings in general though.

I just kind of laid my tlr to rest, but I still shoot square. I bought a 35mm conversion set for it and have to give it another go. It would be great to shoot some panos on it. It is just hard to figure out how far to wind, etc.

| | | It's a great resource for architecture in the city. It can be interesting to search by neighbourhood, because it might reveal some details on building you might have previously considered insignificant.

| | | I would take the half ass info on this site with a grain of salt... Some of these buildings aren't used 24-7 but still in use. For example "Workshop Building No. 58" Is partially used to store military supplies, and also has an urban warfare training area in it. I would strongly encourage you not to explore this 'abandoned' building... its not. Edit... also this building doesn't belong to Downsview park as the link says, its owned by DND. It does not have any heritage status, and is planned to be demoed in 3-5 years. http://www.army.fo.../6_1_1.asp?id=1607 Edit... It seems like they changed plans an will tear down the building before the new one is built. http://www.army.fo...raining_Area_e.htm I still wouldn't recommend entering this site. | | | Here's a different one that actually goes into a bit more detail about what is still active. It also provides a tidbit of history about each town. http://www.ghostto...tario/ontario.html

Yeah... agreed. While getting a finger wagging from a rent-a-cop is one thing. Busting into a military facility wearing a gas mask gets you a free tropical vacation, sharing a fabulous suite with Omar Khadr.

| | | Workshop building # 58 I've been in there a few times recently.. But than again, I'm in the military.. I would not recommend attempting to gain access to that building it is monitored very well.. (this includes the grounds around the building)
