Cool video...it gives you a much different experience then long exposure pictures I would say. Fitting soundtrack too. Are you a student on the campus?

This is really neat, I actually prefer it to just pictures. The music is also awesome

when you are here, you wish you were there. but once you're there, it soon becomes a here, and you again wish to be there instead of here...

we will never be completely satisfied.

yep, im a york student... both places are near campus. i hope to film two bigger tunnels (both mentioned on vanishingpoint) - "roman numerals" and "gargantua". the latter is best explored on a bike. they are really awesome.
as to music - its by jean michelle jarre... he has amazing "tunnel" music

It might turn out less shaky (and allow faster travel) to attach your camera to your handlebars instead of drain-walking with it. If you're willing to blow $20 on a 'gorilla-pod' (plastic bendy thing), they're pretty sturdy. Otherwise, you're a college student and probably speak fluent duct-tape.

I liked the second half of the video more than the first, as the music became more interesting and less annoying. What make/model of flashlight did you use?

Sometimes I wonder if my obsession with flashlights led to my interest in Urban Exploration, or conversely, if my
interest in exploration led to my flashlight obsession

i have tried several high output flashlights (20w or more). unfortunately, all work for max 20-30 mins... and then i had a really bright idea=). I decided to remove original battery and power the light from external source in the backpack. Light consumes around 4 amps (a lot), but my 2 SLA's provide 14Ah of charge stretching the operation time to more than 3 hrs.
It is also a good idea to use a diffusing filter (made from sanded cd case) to remove central bright spot which no camera can handle properly. It will improve quality of pics or video clips.

That was about as exciting as walking through a featureless RCP.

Oh wait.

I kind of agree with this comment. The York drain probably isn't the best choice for 10 mins worth of footage. Gargantua might be a better choice, but only if you edit the footage down so that it doesn't start to get redundant.

I agree with Micro, for most of the drains in the GTA you'll have to edit out many kilometres of featureless RCP/RCB. A 5min clip of the "best of" is what you're looking for (or at least that's what most viewers will want)

We (AOTU) too are playing around with drain footage, and the struggles of trying to light it sufficiently, as well as keeping the viewer interested.

Depending what you call "features". I think YOrks drain is interesting because of what grows in there. Those two long stalactites, the flowstone and clogged pipes are quite remarkable. I have never see smth like this, but again, i have been only to few drains.
