DIY Swiss Rappelling Harness

This is great for getting down from anything from rock faces, to trees, to buildings. and its also quite a bit cheaper than the harnesses found at sports stores. a good skill to have when your making a harness on the go.

Do make this you will need

6 to 10 feet of rope depending on your body size (thick enough to support your weight)

Scissors or a knife

The ability to understand my instructions

-Take your rope and fold it in half.
-Put the fold of the rope on the lower part of your ass and pull the rope in front of you as far as you can.

-Twist the rope over itself a few times making a licorice type thing (you will attach a carabiner to this later.

-Take the rope coming out of the licorice thing and wrap it around your thigh from the outside of your leg.

-Push the ends of the rope through the last twist of the licorice thing.

-Pull the ends of the rope where your belt buckle would be and tie a knot of your choice here.

-Cut off slack rope but leave enough to re-tie the know if needed.

-Get a carabiner that will support your weight and attach it to the licorice
twist near your waist.

-Attach a length of rope to the carabiner.

-Test out your harness before using it on any size building.

-Good luck rappelling!

If you have any questions on my instructions feel free to post a reply.

should also be noted that if you're going rappeling, it's much safer, wiser, and more comfortable to use a harness. I suggest using this technique only if necessary.

Also, the two ropes that run between your legs can be very uncomfortable on the testicles (if you have them) so I wrapped duct tape between them.

Also, the swiss seat harness has the "Pedobear seal of approval"!
