|  | | | I'm quite new to this and I'm rather curious.
I know in some places the penalty for being caught can be rather strict and I"m wondering did anyone ever get "prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law" as so many signs say? or did you just get a slap on the wrist?
Also how lenient are cops and security towards photographers in these types of situations? I'm am a legitimate photographer and I know people can be very unpredictable as to their reaction to someone with a camera.

| | | | I was charged with criminal trespass. Completed a 9 month diversionary agreement and it went away. The property owner for some reason wanted a stupid letter of apology which the judge said I had to write - he got one sentence: "I regret my actions the night of XXXXX and it won't be repeated." I couldn't bring myself to actually use the words "apologize" or "sorry."
Note this was in a small town.
And I was only caught because the owner took it upon himself to hide out at 2am and watch for trespassers. He was doing this because of recent theft at the property.

Worst I've gotten was having rednecks shoot fireworks at my friends and I while traped in a storm drain.
It scared the wits out of us.

One of us was short and had a hard time climbing in and that was just long enough for some people to see us and grab some fireworks matches and I wouldn't be surprised if a camera was involved.

Me: I was taking photos.
Cop: Ok, you can go. Dont do any burnouts. Or handbrake turns either! N stay out of the power station. The security guard is getting on my nerves and id rather not have to deal with him again.
