I am guessing by this statement that there is an explorer/photographer divide of some sort? I feel there is, not by everyone and not all the time, but its around. I have had my work harped on for not being 'realistic' or 'documentary' in nature, but its not how I do things. My photographer side came first, and yeah, sometimes I just want to explore a place because I know I will be inspired to shoot something awesome. A boarded up house in complete darkness is probably not going to pique my interest. But to each their own. I just feel as though certain people think you are less of an explorer because you are also a photographer.
