after much testing I have found the ultimate UE camo. 1)dark colored polo shirt. navy blue and black are best. 2)Tan work pants. Dickies are tough, cheap, and readily available at Wal-mart. 3)Orange reflective vest. you can get these cheap at Home Depot, Lowe's, Grainger, Northern or Harbor Freight. 4)Clipboard. It is an essential prop. If you aren't lugging tools, then you need a clipboard. remember, look the part. 5)hard hat. duh. the best way to hide is to simply look like you belong there.

This is all well and good... during the daytime. You'd be hard-pressed to explain what you're doing there at 2am alone.

Although personally I'd rather take my chances with getting caught in street clothes rather than sweat in a hard hat for hours on end.

Also, common sense: dark colors do not help you on a white water tower, for instance.

EVERYONE TRY AND LOOK NORMAL!!!

And normal varies on where you are.

Agree with rivermyst, getting busted with props is no good.

It depends on the location, I'd say. If it's a location where once you're on the property, you have no plausible excuses, then camo might be an option, but if it's a solitary building somewhere, I think you'd be drawing too much attention to yourself. E.g., near me is an old air force radar station that probably covers 100 or more acres and is severely overgrown, with easy entry. I changed into camo once I was in because, if I was caught, no matter what I was wearing, I was obviously trespassing and I can't imagine what excuse I could have given that could have gotten me out of it. In that case, wearing camo would have helped me avoid the gendarmes, had they patrolled the area.

does that look like it would help you fit in to abandoned building? and regardless of where, think it would help with the cops/security?

Clearly, you must wear camo in brown and grey, printed with patterns resembling mold, rebar, and peeling paint.

your best urban camo to be semi camoflauged (not blend in, but be harder to see) is dark grey or faded black...think the color that toronto ETF officers wear. Just avoid the BDU style cuts as they attract attention, but thats your colour.

If im exploring an old hospital, wearing a hard hat and vest walking around property the cops will just notice you more then anything and wonder what that asshole is doing. Just wear clothes that fit in with the place you are going to. Like Aurelie said, if youre going to a water tower, do not wear dark colors if its a light color. It all depends what place youre going to. If youre going to a hospital and you wear camo, the cops are going to notice you right away and think youre doing something. But if you wear regular clothes, they look right past you most of the time. Unless youre not allowed to be on the property at all. Then youre fucked 6 ways from sunday and if youre caught in camo, the cop will probably just call you an idiot or something.

Black is one of the worst camo colors you can wear.. At night everything is shades of blue, so stick with navys and such for night.. Not to mention that cops generally don't like people that dress entirely in black and go sneaking around at night.. You want to mask yourself as a "normal person" so it really isn't even color you need to worry about
just about nothing in nature is actually black.. earth tones and navy.. wear those colors in clothes that don't make you stand out in a crowd then you would have what you need..

Why the hell can't you n00bs stop giving redundant advice on camo? What's with everyone having such a hard on for clipboards and hard hats?

Just go out and see some stuff. Don't be barefoot and you'll be fine.
