So I made the trek across the country from Los Angeles to Massacheezits and have been here almost a month now, getting a little ancy to explore somewhere but have no idea where to begin lol Anyway I'm in the metrowest area don't think there's too much in this neck of the woods but if anyone's heading somewhere cool at some point please keep me in mind.
Thanks!
Joe

I'm in the Taunton area. If you ever feel like heading in that direction lemme know, especially if you wanted to, say, explore Dever, I might happen to know all the heavily patrolled areas and how much of a hard-ass the guards on duty are.

The Worcester area has tons of abandonments, you just need to watch out since there are some really bad areas. I've explored an abandoned foundry, mall, and YMCA there this past year. I'm personally not aware of many abandonments in the Boston metro area, I tend to explore more rural town and cities (except Worcester of course).

As someone else said Belchertown State School is a great place to start, very easy to get on the grounds. I'm up for a small meetup as well!

Welcome back to Mass urbanjoe.
Though a lot usually say massholes suck and this and that, there are a TON of places to explore and I actually love living here. The fall colors, the snow, back roads etc....

By the way, since Worcester was mentioned, I'm in the Worcester area and if any of you are around the neighborhood, I found a few places recently that need to be checked out, (an old house, an abandoned restaurant, other things too).
I've been to them many times and have found easy entry points at all of them, though I have not been in them yet.
I'll probably go today to one of them hopefully.
If any of you are interested in the near future, shoot me a pm.
I've always explored alone, but a "broken bones instance" that happened to me recently has changed my view on that a bit.
Hell, maybe get a small group together if anyone's up for that.

Thanks for the replies guys and gals! I am going to be able to venture out at some point here pretty soon I just have to dial a few more things in first, getting closer though. I live in the metro-west area and loving it here. I know what you mean about the fall colors I'm so looking forward to it. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to get into an accident because I'm always looking at the old houses, streams, brooks and trees while I'm driving around lol. I loved living in Los Angeles and did a lot of cool shit while I was there but it's good to be home. Never thought I'd get board of sunny and warm weather but after 13 years was getting a little old and looking forward to the change of seasons. OK enough sappy rambling from me. Hope I can meet up with some of you soon, I'm a little older so not looking forward to anything "too" extreme but not "that" old either haha
Rawk on!

The back roads of Mass are perfect for sightseeing of ALL kinds.

I know what you mean about the fall colors I'm so looking forward to it.

I don't know if you were in LA in 2004, but the colors around New England were incredible that year.
Here's a few pics I took while floating around that year and to allow you to remember how cool New England can be
