| | | Hi my name is Jesse I am an Ogden, Utah resident and very new to the whole urban exploration thing. Like a lot of people I learned about Urban exploration from other people and got really into it but with my current contacts and information I have no idea where to start. So any information be it places to explore or just ideas where to look would be very helpful. Thanks for your time ~Jesse.

| | | Google Maps, and Bing Maps are both priceless to me, especially when looking for drains, birds eye view and street view are great ways to find a way in, or tell if the building is occupied. Good Luck! KJ

| | | Google maps/streetview is very useful for finding locations amd looking at locations that are otherwise obscured by trees.

| | | The above comments are good, do your research online with maps and google, then head out once you have a lead. Still cant find anything? Go out driving or walking around, its real easy to miss stuff looking at sat maps. And this is just my viewed opinion (said to help you not insult you), but most explorers find rookies kinda annoying to explore with, they dont want to hold their hand the whole time or get in a pickle cuz you dont know what you're doing. What I'm saying is, get out there, explore on your own for a bit, come back with your own info and experiences and everyone around here will be more willing to share ideas with you. This "community" is a two way street. My best advice for places to start looking, follow rail road tracks. [last edit 5/21/2010 8:07 PM by Mr_Fiend - edited 3 times]

| | | Welcome to the internet vast sources of info. Google is magic.. at least a good portion of the time it is.. Usually if you find one place. Your explorer instincts will lead you to another.

| | | Hello from St George, a couple hundred miles S of you. Best thing to do in terms of getting some UER street-cred is to just do some decent UE'ing on your own or with friends, and then document some of your exploits here like you've seen others do. As you hopefully already know from looking at the forums, you don't have to be a Ninja or cat-burglar, just explore & document cool sights you come across. You don't need any of us to give you a list. The nice thing about this UE stuff is that we all come across interesting places as part of our daily travels, and unlike most people, WE try to satisfy our curiosity, & find the beauty & intrigue in what others may write-off as dirty, abandoned places. If you become a productive member of UER by sharing some of your UE adventures & exchanging relevent comments, etc. in the forums, you eventually will be nominated for full-membership, at which time you'll have full access to the UE DB -- the database which catalogs info on various sites around the world. Some of but not all of these sites can be viewed by you right now in the DB.
/-/ooligan P.S. Get a haircut immediately! In order to avoid police arousal, all male UER members are required to have a clean-cut, conservative appearance & not look like hippies waiting to car-jack a Volvo to get to Seattle for the next WTO protest.

| | | Just in case you didnt catch it the first 5 times, try using Google maps or Bing. Or websites with locations on it, there are plenty of those now. Then research where they are and enjoy. Just make sure you research before you go so you dont get there and find out it was demolished.

Careful Jesse, the chicks here on UER are very aggressive! They act demure until you're alone with them in some abandoned building, and then they get... well, you'll find out. /-/oolie

| | | Greetings from Toronto eh! /-/ooligan pretty much nailed it. Just get out and do your thing man. If you've got some friends to tag along with bring them (as long as they aren't going to be doing stupid things while they're with you) and have some fun. On your first couple times out it's always good to have some backup for just in case purposes. You look like a strong young lad so i'm sure you'll make out just fine. Welcome to the community.

| | | I live in Boise, north of you and I've been to SLC a few times for some exploration theres a couple good places I know off the top of my head and I'm not an INFORMATION NAZI! Like most so I'll tell you. In Ogden there is an old building that was a stock exchange building that was also used as an insane asylum for a while it's a pretty neat place I can't remember where it's at but the street has something to do with stock exchange. They have a haunted house in it around haloween you might be able to search that and find the address. And right down the street from that there is an old abandoned dog food plant. And somewhere along the freeway between SLC and Ogden there is an abandoned building right off the freeway I have no idea what exit you take if you find out you should let me know Hope this helps!!

It's really not that vauge! I'd imagine there's not many streets in Ogden having something to do with Stock or Exchange. Eh, I tried...
