|  | | | This is my first post, I've been looking here for a week or so but I wasn't able to post for a few days. Name's Mike, and I live in South Jersey, more specifically the Winslow/Williamstown area, so about 30 minutes from center city in Philadelphia.
I'm an avid urban explorer, but I've exhausted all my spots around me. I've got some cool residential buildings to go in around me, but that's about it. I've traveled to, and been inside, Greystone, North Princeton Developmental Center, and another NJ asylum whose name is escaping me at the moment.
I find urban exploration to be a mixture between thrill, history, and mystery, which is why I love doing it. I'm damn good at finding my way into a building security or not (that isn't saying I'm proud of it or anything).
I was hoping to find individuals with the same mindset as me, who find the same things interesting. Was hoping to be made aware of any cool places around my area. I'll drive up to as far as New York, if it's worthwhile. Also hoping to find people here who may be interested in forming a group to conquer all the weird things in New Jersey and our tri-state area.
If you're anywhere near me, please don't hesitate to send me a PM. I don't bite, and I'd say I'm definitely a positive addition to any explorers (or would-be) out there.
Hoping to hear some responses!

That being said, you made a few noob mistakes in your first post. Firstly, many people on these forums frown on the usage of a location's real name. It probably isn't wise to admit to going into places like Greystone as security there DO peruse these forums. In fact, security from almost all the "big guns" and police frequent UER. Since this is an illegal hobby, it's just best to not give things specific names.
Secondly, asking for info on specific locations or asking for location handouts before you've built up a reputation is also frowned on. Lucky for you, "some people" have decided to mellow down a bit so you haven't been snapped at.
My best advice if you want to find new places is to visit your local library, historical society, google, newspapers, etc. etc... Meeting up with people is also a great way to find new places. I know you mentioned you wanted to meet up with some folks, so it's a good idea to always meet up first in a public place and never at a location itself. You never know if someone from UER is looking to bust you or vise versa.

| | | | Hey. I grew up in Jersey and still visit quite a bit.. There is a lot of cool stuff in New Jersey. I'm more familiar with North Jersey though. Look and ye shall be rewarded with lots of awesomeness. In my experience it's actually one of the easier places to find locations
