Do you share all of your explorations with this forum?
< on 6/18/2010 1:52 AM >

I've done dozens and dozens of explorations that have never been posted here. Sometimes it's out of sheer laziness (too lazy to upload). Sometimes the spots just don't feel epic enough so I don't post.

Do you share everything? If not, what are your reasons?

People are weird.

I don't, because I don't want pictures of certain things on the internet. Or, if I do post certain places on UER, I only do it in private boards. That and the reasons that you just cited.

I share the interesting ones, though use fake location names at times.

I stopped posting a lot of new pics lately because it's all from the same place that everyone finds really boring even tho they're different buildings - so I've got lots of stuff that I love, but i just keep them to myself mostly.

Many are simply time wasters, many are repeats, many I do not have pictures of which is mostly out of laziness.

Many adventures are made by the people who you are with, not the location itself.

Some places are too sensitive for even Level 3 access.

Facebook gets 95% of my sensitive locations, though some places are too sensitive for even there ... I really like the Facebook custom privacy options allowing for only specific people to see certain things, but I again have been lazy I could repost old adventures but have not found the motivation to do so.

Often times, I will throw out a single picture, or a few pictures into a pre-existing thread ... haven't made a new photography thread in a while because I have sadly had not too many well documented adventures worth sharing.

I get annoyed when ppl "share" by posting pics, but when you try to contact them for a little help/ info they ignore you. ahh, the secrets of UE

And when you finally disappear, We'll just say you were never here.

yeh i post pics of places but intentionally obscure anything that identifies a location if i care about anyone going there....being the selfish type and all.

otherwise, i don't post pics of places that could end up screwing me should the wrong people decide to pursue an explanation of how i ended up three layers into well secured infrastructure...i don't care that much but enough to keep safe.

i would of course just say i didn't take the pic and downloaded it and palmed it off as my own, who's to say i don't already.

I will generally post most of my adventures here. I figure, you can't really tell where most of the places are by the interior shots (I don't post many exteriors anymore) so if somebody knows my locations by the pictures, chances are they've been there themselves. That, and most of the places I go aren't very sensitive.

I've only been doing this for a little over a year, so every time I go somewhere it's fresh to me. I'll post almost all my sets. If its a place that has been well traveled or destroyed beyond recognition, I'm not going to bother obscuring the details. If it's someplace newer then I'll change something around to make it not so obvious or keep it protected.

My main goal of urban exploring is to take pictures and document decay. I'll post my favorite dozen or so in a post here to share with people. The people here on the boards would be the ones that appreciate it the most out of anyone, so I'm inclined to post it.

I think at some point all of my locations will be on here. Some go on right away, some wait until it's already been discovered by the masses and therefore no longer sensitive, others wait until the location is demolished. As far as current explorations? No definitely not. The gems are kept off-site or are limited to teasers.

Lately I've shared some on the rather bland side, but that's just the nature of things. I don't post everything, but still want to stay active on the site while maintaining a level of security I expect of others here.

No. I don't do anything spectacular in these days.

I do post locations in the LDB if I happen to find something new, though.

If it's a place that really has nothing left to lose, it goes into the DB.

If it's already in the DB and the photos turned out great, it goes to the forum.

If it's not in the DB and I don't want to see it destroyed, only photos posted to the forum and the name may be changed to preserve the integrity of the location.

I try to keep a backlog, that is, to keep a reserve of anywhere from a dozen to two dozen locations on the hard drive and post them at spaced intervals to UER so as to always have fresh content to share with others.

If anyone asks, I always give them the directions provided they are a full member and I know them, or know of them.

I explore frequently but don't carry a camera so no. I'll probably regret not taking pictures some day as memories fade.

I'm new, but this process is intimidating! Ya got people critiquing the artistic quality of things, people looking but not commenting. I've explored a handful of places since starting posting with this account and haven't posted them yet. Also the picture attachment process is kind of annoying.
