I wish I would have googled steady cams before I built mine, course it didn’t know what they were called till after I built it. As it turns out, it was pretty much on track anyway. Here’s a vid showing the one I built:

Nice! I'm impressed by your Macgyver job!

I've only ever used a GoPro to film various activities. It has a helmet mount, but for mounting to other things (dashboards, bike handlebars, ski poles, etc...) my friends tend to use duct tape.
