So yesterday I was all excited to venture into a new and thrilling search. This dump site has always appealed to me and so I wanted to go. With nobody available to trek this out with me I went by myself. I googled it and earth mapped it and I was ready to rock out. I was gonna be the first. Uncharted land.

Boy Howdy am I an idiot.

I didnt realize its open to the public.

Nothing on google to tell me that.

I snapped some pics and walked to the top for a couple hours which then I realized 3 other locations I wanted to go to were a no go due to snow and darkness.

Once again, have a look, and I am ready to take my Noob Lumps from all comers.

I did manage to however Infiltrate a small building this day and here are inside and outside photos of said building.

And here is one of the ugly brute who brought you this fantastic gallery that you probably wasted 2 minutes on.......

All that matters is whether or not you had fun,right?

PS~ Did you poop in that last abandoned location? There's a thread about that somewhere on here.

I had an awesome time because I though all before I got there I was going have to bust out my stealth mechanix and get to work.

I would go back. Its kinda cool. My thought was how many dead people are in the dump.

There was a guy in a red pickup that kinda was watching me. It was probably nothing but it all adds to the chance of getting caught. Sorta.

said this place is open to the public.{all the time, day or night. I've been up there a trillion times and no one has bothered me there.}

The landfill closed somewhere in the early 90's and the RVCA{Rouge Valley Conservation Authority} has and been revitalizing this area. ie: creating pathways, planting trees and other plants, also at the bottom of the landfill{west side of the train tracks} is a Westlands, which is part of the Rouge Park. To bring wild life back to the Rouge.

At the west side of the Valley you would have seen this house.

The Pearce homestead was built in 1869 by the Pearce family themselves. In 1893 the Pearce family rebuilt their home on the existing foundation and reused some of the old wood to save in material and labour. The Pearce family ran a saw mill near by on the Rouge River.{which I believe is the Kirkhams Mill, and was operated by John Pearce.}
The James Pearce Jr. Home is now the RVCC{Rouge Valley Conservation Centre}. I don't know what year this happened but the Rouge Valley Foundation transported and helped restore this amazing structure. They had moved it to the top of the hill on Beare Landfill Sanitary rd. Currently 1749 Meadowvale rd. Toronto.

Also, I had found that{in the last photo you will notice} that the RVCC states that the last name Pearce was spelt with an S but in the 1878 map of the area it states the last name Pearce is spelt with a C. James Pearce and his brother's, John and George had property's in the Rouge Area. John had run a saw mill on the Rouge River with his family.

George Pearce also helped at the mill. {Which I believe was the Kirkham's Mill}
George Pearce Homestead.

Scarborough Outdoor Ed used to be the house on the corner.

I think it was called SOES
