Warehouse in Western NY

This is a warehouse in my hometown, which is a small college town in western NY about 40 miles south of Buffalo. It is one of two accessible buildings in this town and is right in the open so I do not want to say too much about it because it is my sanctuary.

In terms of greatness, the building is not amazing but it does have its charms. The roof is easily accessible and allows one to sit and watch trains go by right under you. If you venture to the upper levels of the roof you can look over the entire town. Be cautious though because you will be in sight, and the roof has some points that could be iffy so watch the footing.

Perhaps the most unique thing of this place are the two back ends of semi trucks parked, and full of tires. For those not afraid of climbing and heights, there are ladders to the upper rafters which provide a pretty cool vantage point.

Besides the roof, what I enjoy best about this one are the sounds of it. Go on a stormy day or night and bring a field recorded for multiple sounds including sheeting banging in the wind, passing trains, wind howling in the wide open areas, and plenty of leaky roof areas and broken pipes.

I have been coming here for a few years, but the night I took these it was pitch black, raining and then snowing. Take this into account for some of the softness/blurriness of a few of the shots.

to both of you, definitely would hook up and hang and check some spots out.

I got a buddy in Buffalo that is all about this stuff too and he has countless spots. we both keep finding more too. Buffalo is such a graveyard for buildings, its great and sad.

@abandonedfreak - where in PA are you at? Do you know anything in erie area? Been meaning to come down there and scope shit out. Getting mad expensive though to travel.

I am definitely interested and want get with you on meeting up to check some stuff out. Maybe we can see what we can set up in PM.

i am heading out to philly next week and have no real schedule. i am seeing a show there saturday but leaving early to check out Centralia. If you are on the way a bit, and there is some cool shit in your town/city let me know! I will gladly pass through for a day.

OK, maybe I’m a little twisted (well, yeah, but that’s not the point)… anyway, #11… is that some animal sacrifice on the table!?!

Also, is the Phoenix with the camera someone’s tag?

Looks like a cool place, good find, always nice to have a place to ponder.

In number 11, it was not a dead bird/sacrifice. It is just some crazy debris. Typically a lot of teens just go there to break shit and vandalize because it is easy entrance and easy to get to. Sometimes you can find makeshift skateboard ramps and grind rails.

There is a building I was in where there was a dead bird strung up. I will post that someday. It was strange and creepy.

As for the phoenix graf, it is a Phoenix and then somebody else tagged what I make to be a penis and balls over it. Highly disrespectful because the phoenix is kind of decent, then some shitbag ruined it with typical teen BS because ya know, drawing cocks on things is edgy, rebellious and cool.

There is not any really good graf in my town, nor any writers. Buffalo though has some good stuff.

I am worried they are gonna demolish this place. there was a whole other building out back that got leveled and i now backfilled =( I never went in that one.
