If you're driving a boring looking plain sedan you'll look like law enforcement, and possibly cause interest.

Not always a bad thing. Sometimes I've dreamed of having a plain-looking sedan with black steel rims, roof rack, tinted rear windows and stuff (laptop, GPS etc.) mounted on the dash. It could, in theory, make people around me behave...

The next step would be imitation painting, but that's unfortunately illegal.

(That's a HVAC company. They also had a spanner in the back in place of the "lion sword").

my girlfriend drove a former police crown vic for a while that se got at an auction, it was great watching people get out of our way on the highway. Doesnt matter what color or anything, its all about the metal bumper guard in the front.

On this topic, i get to drive a state pickup truck around this summer for my research, i cant wait to park wherever the hell i like for exploration. Its gonna be great.

It's not the smokes makin' me sick, It's standing out in the cold to smoke em'

this is a very good idea. how much did you pick up your truck for in the auction?

I gave $11k for her in Jan. 2009 with 7,000 miles on the clock.

I'm sure this would work with any truck if you put a yellow light on the roof. Except for if you're under the age of 20 or so, it might look a little suspicious.

Less breaking, more entering -- *tells cop we're taking pictures* "OF WUUUUT?!"

It's not uncommon here for civilians to buy unmarked Crown Vics when the police are done with them. Complete with radar and antennaes and everything. I can't decide if a cop seeing one of those outside an abandonment would just roll on by, or want to stop and help his buddy.

Up here state police plates are #,#,#,ɑ,ɑ,ɑ ... my state issues about ten variations of the last three letters that only go on police vehicles. Police can very easily distinguish one of their own from a civilian.
